This 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray Convertible features a
big-block hood and a color change to Rally Red. It was sold on
Hemmings Auctions nine months ago, its prior owner had its frame
replaced due to rust, and had "areas of the car professionally
restored," he says. He considered the car "90% restored."
The previous owner had the custom three-taillights-per-side reduced
to the stock two, and body and paintwork done. The driver's front
seat cover was replaced, and a new convertible top was
installed.This 1966 Sting Ray Convertible's frame was replaced
under prior ownership.
New suspension and brakes were installed at that time.
The exterior features a big-block hood and custom rounded wheel
openings.
Its color was changed to Rally Red from Tuxedo Black years ago.
The rear had been customized by adding a third taillight on each
side.
But, the current owner had them eliminated and had bodywork and
paintwork done.
A new convertible top and driver's side seat cover were installed
on the Chevy.
The Sting Ray is said to have retained its original 327 engine.This

with its bright red paint, modified wheel openings, side-mounted
exhaust, and knock-off wheels.
