1970 Buick GS For Sale
This 1970 Buick GS is a well-preserved example of Buick's take on
the muscle car era, powered by its GS 350 V8 and upgraded with an
aluminum intake and Edelbrock AVS2 carburetor. The engine is backed
by a rebuilt TH350 automatic transmission, enhanced with additional
clutches, bearings, and a 2,000 RPM B&M stall converter.
The drivetrain features 3.73 gears, with power sent through a
2.5-inch aluminum exhaust tied into stainless mufflers. Cooling is
managed by a 4-core radiator with a flex fan, while stopping power
comes from front disc brakes and rear drums.
The engine received a rebuild in 2014, with upgrades including
custom headwork for larger valves, a performance oil pump, and a
custom-ground camshaft. Since then, only about 2,000 miles have
been added, while the car itself has seen just 20,000 miles since
its professional restoration in the 1980s. That restoration was
completed entirely in steel with no bondo used, and sound deadener
was applied throughout to reduce drivetrain heat and road
noise.
Finished in silver with a new black landau vinyl roof, the paint,
chrome, and body all present beautifully. The interior is equally
sharp, with black seats and carpet in near-new condition, a clean
dash, Mallory gauges for amps, water temperature, and oil pressure,
an AutoMeter tachometer, and a Sony head unit paired with a
Rockville R7EQ equalizer.
This GS has been owned by the same enthusiast since 1981, when it
was purchased with graduation money. It has earned first place as
Best Original at three Buick-specific car shows, a testament to
both its condition and authenticity.
A classic blend of Buick luxury and muscle car performance, this GS
stands as a rare survivor that has been cherished and upgraded with
care over more than four decades.
