Right now in the market the Chevy C10 is the king of classic
pickups. These trucks from the 60's, 70's and 80's are very sought
after and have a following of their own. Every once in a while you
come across a classic that is over the top rich with history but it
is a rare occurrence. Out of all the vehicles we have sold, the
odds of knowing things like its original owner, original dealership
and the like is pretty slim. This 1965 C10 is a very special truck
that is only being offered up for sale because the owner wants to
find it a good home where it can continued to be cherished and
enjoyed. It is the fleetside 1/2 ton version and was purchased
brand new in 1965 by the current owners father in Enid, Oklahoma.
The current owner then purchased it from him in 1973. That means
the truck has lived in the South and primarily in the DFW metroplex
since new. It was used as a driver back in the day but in March
2002 the transformation began. A full frame off restoration started
with the intent of returning it to its original showroom condition.
The process took 3 years until the nut and bolt restoration was
finish. Being that it is in its original family all of the original
paperwork, booklets and protect-o-plate have been preserved which
is another rare site to see. The body on the truck is laser
straight and rust free from top to bottom. It has been repainted in
its original light Yellow and White color combination that has a
beautiful slick finish. The owner has maintained the truck
meticulously since the build was completed and it shows. These long
beds has some great looking trim with spears that stretch the full
length of the body. Between that trim is the White accent to match
the roof and "Chevrolet" lettering on the tailgate. It also has
like new roof trim, chrome bumpers, and a chrome grill. The lights
work properly throughout with zero issues. The glass is all in good
condition with no cracks or issues. It really is stunning in person
and if you were transported back to a Chevrolet dealership in 1965
this is what you would see. In fact, more care was likely put into
this labor of love then what it got from the factory. In back it is
gorgeous with the bed being fully redone in beautifully stained
wood with chrome runners. The truck sits on its matching color
steel wheels with shining Chevrolet hubcaps, beauty wrings and
Hankook thin white wall tires that are like new.
Under the original hood you will find the correct numbers matching
High Torque 283 motor. Everything is all painted up to look just
like it did originally and it is topped off with the single snorkel
air cleaner. Paired with the engine is a smooth shifting 2 speed
powerglide and 12 bolt rear end. Underneath the truck every thing
is super clean, solid, and painted. The only modifications you will
find on the truck is the addition of a Vintage AC system for
comfort and Flowmaster mufflers.
The interior of the truck is all stock and nicely done in the
original Gray and White. The inside of the cab and door panels are
all very nicely painted with the same quality of finish as the
exterior. The bench seat is nicely upholstered with clean stitching
and features the white accent on the seat back that matches the
door panels. The dash features all of its original gauges, knobs,
switches, etc and everything works. The only non original component
is the controls and vents for the added AC which are mounted below
the dash.
This truck is one of the nicest examples of this vintage of C10 you
are going to find. It has won many awards and was even invited to
its original dealership for a photoshoot. If you want the best of
the best original C10 you aren't going to find one that tops this.
It is museum or high level collection status.
This '65 could be in your collection for $86,500.00!
