Beautiful 1967 Ford Mustang convertible built as a GTA tribute.
C-code 289 with automatic, power steering, power disc brakes, power
top. Extensive recent work with documentation. Very nice paint and
interior. A cool Mustang that drives as great as it looks!Ford
redesigned the Mustang in 1967 to give it a little more space for a
big block V8 under the hood, but we'd argue that there's still no
better powerplant for an early Mustang than the reliable, torquey,
and eager-to-rev 289. This very pretty Acapulco Blue 1967 Ford
Mustang convertible is a well-built GTA tribute that gets a lot of
the details right to create one of the best-looking Mustangs we've
seen in a while. Adding the fog lights in the grille, the rocker
stripe, the GTA emblems, and a few other details gives it just the
right amount of aggression to make it look sporty, not plain, and
we like that quite a bit. The paint is recent and looks very good
on the Mustang bodywork?there's a reason Acapulco Blue was so
popular. Look closely and you'll see laser-straight flanks, good
panel gaps, and lots of time invested in the final finish, which
has a brilliant, clear reflection indicative of lots of hand labor.
Most of the chrome and stainless trim is new, too, adding a bunch
of bright jewelry that sparkles against the bright blue paint. Look
at the car then look again at the price, and you'll know this one
won't sit for long. The matching code 2B two-tone blue interior is
how this car was ordered and it now wears reproduction seat covers,
new carpets and door panels, and a lot of other fresh parts that
make it feel much younger than 58 years old. The aftermarket
wood-rimmed steering wheel is a little smaller in diameter than
stock, but that adds a bit of space in the driver's seat, making
this car comfortable for even taller drivers. All the factory
gauges are operational, and are joined by an aftermarket oil
pressure gauge under the dash, just in case. There's also a modern
RetroSound radio in the dash which feeds discreet speakers stashed
just behind the front seats on the floor. The seat belts were
re-webbed, there are color-matched floor mats with running pony
logos embroidered on their faces, and even the dash pad is in
excellent condition with no cracks or sun damage. New weather seals
help it close up properly, and there's a bright white power
convertible top and matching blue boot to give it a finished look.
The trunk is surprisingly spacious and includes a full-sized spare
and correct plaid mats for a finished look. The engine is a C-code
289 cubic inch V8 which makes a nice, round 200 horsepower and
enough torque to be entertaining even in today's traffic. The
engine starts easily and runs superbly, making that kind of smooth
performance for which the 289 was justifiably famous. It has a
high-performance look with the open element air cleaner and
reproduction decals, plus the finned Ford Motorsport valve covers,
but looking closer you'll see details like the Ford Blue engine
enamel, correct hose clamps, and other factory bits that give it a
clean OEM look. There's a new radiator up front, all the ignition
parts are new, and, well, it's obvious that someone touched
everything under the hood to make it right. Even the hinges were
replaced with new billet aluminum units that pivot smoothly. The C4
3-speed automatic transmission shifts crisply and there are
highway-friendly 2.80 gears in the 8-inch rear end, making this a
relaxed cruiser rather than a stoplight brawler (although it'll put
a smile on your face if you punch it!). It has been upgraded with a
dual exhaust system that sounds fantastic and terminates in correct
quad tips under the valence, another GTA detail that they chose to
replicate. There are a few patches in the floor in the usual spot,
but today it's solid with no issues, so don't have a second thought
about getting in and enjoying this pretty ragtop. Power steering
and power front disc brakes are part of the package, making this a
car anyone can drive, and it sits on fresh styled steel wheels and
fat 215/70/14 BFGoodrich T/A radials all around.Documentation is
extensive, including a Deluxe Marti Report and a huge binder full
of highly organized receipts for all the recent work. It's easy to
like Mustangs, and when they're as well-rounded as this attractive
convertible, the appeal is understandable. With a lot of recent
work, great road manners, and a brilliant look, this is a great car
for the owner who likes the Mustang experience rather than worrying
about pedigrees. Call today!Harwood Motors always recommends and
