Arguably, the single most aggressively designed front end ever made
for a production car, this 2002 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am WS6
represents the final year of not only the fourth generation of
these cars, but also the last time we have seen the Firebird to
date. With just 35,229 actual miles on its odometer, this WS6's
original Pewter Metallic still looks excellent, helped by its
partial black front-end wrap. With its red accents, upgraded
wheels, and best-of-both-worlds T-tops, this Trans Am is poised to
perform for its next owner.
Inside, we find an original black leather interior. A center
storage console separates a pair of supportive bucket seats, while
a slick short-throw shifter shows off the Firebird logo. A 7,000
rpm tachometer and 150 mph speedometer sit front and center of the
driver, each flanked by a pair of auxiliary gauges. The stereo has
been upgraded to an Alpine double-DIN touchscreen unit that offers
satellite radio and navigation. A power driver's seat, power locks,
windows, and mirrors, along with traction control, air
conditioning, and cruise control, add all the amenities anyone
could ask for in a modern muscle car.
Under that functional Ram Air hood, we find a 5.7-liter LS1 V-8
engine. With its aluminum block and heads, and composite intake
manifold, this small block was capable of making an underrated 325
horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 350 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm
right off the assembly line. This car adds a Fast 92mm intake
manifold, long-tube headers, high-flow cats, and deletes the
factory air intake silencers in favor of a high-flow SLP air lid.
Power is routed through a six-speed manual transmission before
heading out to the 3.23-geared Positraction rear end, which
transfers that muscle to the pavement via a set of polished 17-inch
American Racing Torq Thrust II wheels shod in 275/40ZR-17 Michelin
Pilot Sport tires all around.

This 2002 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am WS6 rides on an upgraded
suspension that features a full UMI performance rear setup. Tubular
trailing arms, a transmission tunnel brace, as well as Koni shocks
and springs at all four corners, help this T-Bird fly around the
twists and turns far better than even the stock WS6 suspension
could handle. Four-wheel power disc brakes, highlighted by a set of
cross-drilled and slotted rotors at the rear, stand ready to scrub
off speed at a moment's notice. If you want to own one of, if not
the most visually intimidating production car to ever appear in
anyone's rearview mirror, this modified, low-mileage WS6 is the
modern muscle car you've been waiting for. Don't wait, call
today!
