This 2005 Ford Mustang Saleen S281 is finished in Mineral Gray over black leather upholstery and is powered by a supercharged 4.6-liter V8 paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a Saleen body kit, 20″ chrome wheels, air conditioning, cruise control, and an aftermarket Pioneer CD stereo with Bluetooth. Previous owner reportedly replaced the camshaft and timing chain, cover seal, and tensioners around 50,000 miles. This S281 currently has 54,400 miles with milage increasing slightly as the car is periodically driven. The sale includes the removed factory stereo and original antenna. This particular Saleen Mustang was originally delivered from the factory as a S281 model with the naturally aspirated 4.6L SOHC V8. The original owner added the correct Saleen supercharger and also the side badges which are not correct factory marks. This car also does not have the hood vents that are typically found on a factory supercharged car. However the supercharger is correct and adds plenty of zip to this fun machine.
The car is finished in Mineral Gray (TK) and is equipped with a Saleen body kit consisting of a revised front fascia with auxiliary lighting, rocker panel extensions, a rear spoiler, a restyled taillight panel, quarter-panel end caps, and a Saleen-embossed rear fascia with center-exit exhaust tips. Custom powder coated valve covers with Shelby markings and the car number 434 were added in 2023. New Continental Extreme Contact 275/35 ZR20 tires were added in 2023 and have less than 500 miles on them.
The front bucket seats are upholstered in black leather and feature louvered headrests as well as Saleen embroidery on the backrests. Silver-finished trim is present on the door panels, and amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, a Pioneer CD stereo with Bluetooth, and power windows and locks. The removed factory stereo is included in the sale.
Known issues include a non-working fuel gage and the supercharger boost gage does not work on the dash mounted gage cluster.
This is a fun classic Saleen Mustang that has spent most of its life in California and more recently, Texas.
