INTRODUCTION: A 390 and a 4-speed in a little two-seater muscle
car! This was nicely restored and I think the colors make it stand
out.
EXTERIOR: These AMXs have such great body design! It's unmistakably
an AMX and cannot be confused for any other car. This one has an
exceptionally clean body as well, smooth from the rockers to the
roof. It fits real nice and the doors shut real solid. Repainted
its original Castillion Gray, the metallic is laid out very evenly
and the clear coat is glossy. The red stripes over the top really
make it pop! Up front the bumper was rechromed, the grille is in
excellent shape and in back the tail light lens doesn't have any
cracks and the bumper has been rechrombed. The windshield's been
replaced and the stainless trim is in very good shape. The wheels
look good, they have the speckled gray on the spokes, black in the
centers and they are wearing Cooper Cobra tires.
INTERIOR: Reupholstered red and black door panels, armrest cushion
and seats. The dash area is very clean, it has a full set of gauges
including the vacuum gauge and a rebuilt clock. A deluxe wheel is
on a tilt column. A retro stereo fits in the factory hole. The
carpet front to back looks fresh and it has AMX floor mats. The
original headliner is in very good shape. 3 point retractable
seatbelts were added.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has this correct 390 motor making 315
horsepower. Believed to have been rebuilt, it runs strong. It has
an Edelbrock carburetor, HEI ignition system and Patriot coated
headers. Features include power steering and power brakes. It runs
cool with the stock fan and shroud along with an electric fan in
front. It is complete with washer fluid bag, squirters are hooked
up, hood insulation, battery is secured, etc. the engine bay is
solid and painted nicely.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted
nicely, the trunk light works. The sticker and weatherstrip have
been replaced. It comes with a lot of extras: premium red car
cover, the collapsible spare along with a spare you can actually
use, miscellaneous extra parts, shop manual and more.
UNDERSIDE: I'm really impressed with the floors under this car,
they appear to be all original and rust free. They have been
cleaned and dusted with some black paint to freshen them up. The
steering and suspension has been maintained as needed. The brakes
are working properly, e-brake is hooked up. The exhaust looks
fairly recent with an h-pipe and Flowmaster mufflers. Looking up at
the motor it is clean, it has a new high torque starter. It also
has a correct, 1969 T10 4-speed manual trans. The rear end has new
3.07 cruising gears.
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we
built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and
hired a team of technicians to service the essentials on every car
we sell.
CONCLUSION: Someone's going to get a really nice car here! Aside
from being a blast to drive, it's a conversation piece. You will
see Camaros and Mustangs, you certainly don't see these too often.
This is only the third one Ive had this year, don't miss it!
For nearly 30 years, I, Jay Grams, have personally written the
highlights for almost every car in our collection. What I provide
is my professional opinion based on my experience with these
vehicles. However, opinions can vary, and I strongly recommend a
personal inspection to form your own view. Our sales team is always
available to answer any questions you may have. One great option is
to request a personalized walk-around video, where we can showcase
the car and share our team's insights. **Our cars are displayed
within a museum setting. If you are interested in a specific
vehicle, please schedule an appointment with a salesperson to view
it. Without an appointment, there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you decide to purchase a car, your admission will be
refunded, and you'll receive a one-year museum membership.
