Vehicle Description

FOR SALE BY AND OWNED BY 500 CLASSIC AUTO - BEST TO CALL 765-345-5211 THIS 68 CHARGER PROJECT THAT WAS NEVER RE PAINTED AND ORIGINAL DRIVE TRAIN DOES RUN AND DRIVE BUT DOES SMOKE SOME ON START UP. IT HAS THE MATCHING 318 2 BBL, POWER STEERING AND POWER DRUM BRAKES, ALSO AC THAT STILL COMES ON BUT DONT BLOW COLD. A GUY REDONE THE BRAKES AND PUT NEW WHEELS AND TIRES ON IT SEVERAL YEARS AGO AND THEN HE GOT SICK SO IT SAT MAYBE 8 YEARS. I HAVE DROVE AND IT RUNS COOL. BUT BRAKES DONT STOP LIKE IT SHOULD AND EXHAUST NEEDS REPLACED. LIGHTS WORK FOR DRIVING. HEADLIGHT DOORS DONT WORK AND WIPERS. SOMEBODY IN 1997 BOUGHT, DATED FROM RECEIPT, A BUNCH OF NEW LEGENDARY INTERIOR FOR IT AND STILL IN ORIGINAL BOXES THAT I OPENED AND INSIDE STILL WRAPPED ARE NEW F AND R SEAT COVERS, F SEAT BUNS, DOOR SILL PLATES, HEADLINER WITH SAIL PANEL BOARDS, CARPET WITH CARPET FOR CONSOLE, PACKAGE TRAY, TRUNK MAT AND SEPARATION BOARD, KICK BOARD INSULATION, VINYL FOR TOP, WINDOW FELTS, RUBBER BUMPER KIT, BATT TRAY, DROP DOWNS IN TRUNK,2 PC TRUNK PAN, DOOR SEALS, ROOF SEALS, AND TRUNK SEAL. HAD NEW TIRES AND 17 INCH RIMS BUT THEY BEEN ON FOR A WHILE TO AND HAS PATINA BUILDING ON THEM. HAS NEW GAS TANK AND SENDING UNIT INSTALLED BUT GAS GAUGE NOT WRKING. ALSO TEMP DONT WORK, HORN DONT AND RADIO. I THINK THAT IS IT FOR THE NEW STUFF. NOTE: I HAVE POSTED 130 PHOTOS AND A VIDEO AT www.500classicauto.com. selling car AS IS with NO Warranty. Comes with clean OHIO TITLE SHOWING 147000 ACTUAL MILES. ALL PARTS WILL FIT IN CAR TO SHIP. BODY - NEVER WRECKED HARD JUST BUMPED AS SEEN IN PHOTOS. GRILL COULD BE REPAIRED. THE FENDERS SHOULD BE REPLACED BUT LT COULD BE PATCHED. INNER FENDER LOOK NICE EXCEPT LT HAS 5 INCH HOLE AT FRONT, FIRE WALL OR COWL LOOKS GOOD, TOP IS GOOD REAR WINDOW CHANNEL WILL NEED A SMALL PATCH AT BOTH BOTTOM CORNERS, HOOD AND TRUNK LID ARE GOOD, NEED NEW TAIL LIGHT PANEL. THE TRUNK FLOOR IS RUSTED IN BOTTOM SECTION. THE FLOOR JUST NEEDS PATCHED AT DRIVER SIDE BY DOOR ABIUT 3 BY 3 INCH, RT FLOOR 2 PLACES ABOUT 6 BY 2 AND A 8 BY 3. THERE MIGHT BE A SMALL HOLE UNDER R SEAT. THE LT REAR FRAME NEEDS A PATCH ABOUT 6 INCH FROM REAR. THE OTHER LOOKS GOOD. THE CENTER CROSS OVER FRAME NEEDS REPAIRED FRO RUST ON RT AND LT FROM ROCKER TO FRAME THAT RUNS TO FRONT( SEE PICS). LASTLY THE LT FRONT FRAME NEEDS PATCHED BEHIND BUMPER MOUNT ON OUTSIDE. THE RUST ON QUARTERS COULD BE DONE WITH PATCH PANELS. RT DOOR NEEDS A RUST SPOT FIXED. OF COARSE IT WILL NEED MORE LIKE BUMPERS AND DULL TRIM REPLACED BUT ALL TRIM IS THERE FOR TOP AND ALL ELSE. INSIDE - DEPENDING HOW NICE YOU WANT IT IN SIDE YOU AT LEAST NEED A DASH PAD AND DOOR PANELS THAT ARE NOT IN NEW STUFF BOXES. THE UPPER DOOR PANELS SHOULD CLEAN UP AND DYE THEM. CONSOLE TRIM IS DULL. WINDOWS WILL WORK BUT DRIVER DOOR NEEDS OILED BEFORE TRYING IT FURTHER, ALL GLASS IS GOOD FACTORY TENT BUT WINDSHIELD HAS PASSENGER SIDE SCRATCH THAT MAY BUFF OUT. MAY NEED HEADLIGHT SWITCH TO WORK DOORS OR REBUILD IT. DOORS WORK GOOD. THIS IS A GREAT PROJECT CAR EVEN THOU THERE ARE MULTIPLE RUST ISSUES. THE QUESTION IS, RESTORE IT WITH 318 TO BE ORIGINAL OR DO SOMETHING LIKE A LATE MODEL HEMI OR 440. IF YOU DO A HEMI AND A 5 OR 6 SPEED YOU COULD HAVE A 120 K TO 150 K CAR. WHILE 318 WONT MAKE IT ABOVE 100K BUT A 440 COULD. I CAN INCLUDE A 440 BLOCK AND HEADS FOR 500.00 MORE IF PICKING UP IN PERSON. SHIPPING - WE CAN SHIP ALL OVER. FOR A PRICE I NEDD A CITY AND ZIP. FINANCING - YOU LIKELY WILL NEED 740 AND HIGHER RATING TO GET A LOAN ON A PROJECT CAR. BUT CALL ME AND LETS SEE.
