Honda is no stranger to high performance engines on many platforms,
from motorcycles, passenger cars, Indy Car racing, and even
airplanes. Much of the motorsport engineering and development by
Honda has been hailed as some of the finest worldwide. Unlike
international automotive brands, these Japanese powerhouse vehicles
use small cylinder displacement versus our fuel-hungry V8
counterparts found under the hoods of most American vehicles.
Creating lightweight, nimble vehicles with high red lines and
manually shifted transmissions made for a solid recipe for many
buyers looking for a reliable sports car that was relatively
affordable and easy to maintain. Honda's premier performance
variants would wear the Type R classification and largely remain
exclusive to international markets only.
The first Honda with the Type R badge would be the NSX in 1992,
followed by the Integra in 1995. It would finally make its way to
the Civic in 1997 based on the sixth-generation model. Founded on
the same principle of being lighter, stiffer, and more powerful
than the base cars, they made for very spunky daily drivers! This
premise continued through the seventh generation Civic for USA
buyers but departed once again in 2007 only to be sold through
international markets. It would not return to US soil until 2017
with the 10th generation Civic and incorporate the now infamous
K20C1 Direct Injection Turbo 4-cylinder turbocharged engine! With
just a 2.0L displacement, these mighty engines created north of 300
horsepower with equally matched torque numbers! Wicked fun and
still only available through Honda with a manual transmission.
Offered here is the 11th Generation 2024 Honda Civic Type R
Hatchback Sedan finished in optional Boost Blue over Red/Black
sport seat cloth interior. Powered by the 315 horsepower 2.0-Liter
Direct Injection Turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, 6-speed manual
transmission, and Limited-Slip Differential. Honda poured on the
performance attributes to include larger radiator, improved brake
cooling, active exhaust valving, and a lighter flywheel with
rev-matching software. According to Car and Driver Magazine, they
can deliver 0-60 mph in just 4.9 seconds and a quarter mile time at
13.5 seconds passing the traps at 106mph!
Additional features on these impressive vehicles include adaptive
damping suspension with 4 driving modes, electric power steering,
Brembo front brakes, ABS with electronic brake distribution, brake
assist, TPMS, LED running lights/headlights/taillights, BOSE
premium 12-speaker audio system, pushbutton start, 9" touch screen
with navigation,
voice recognition, rearview camera, Bluetooth/Apple CarPlay/Android
Auto, SiriusXM audio interface, dual zone automatic climate
control, blind spot monitoring, 19" alloy wheels with large
265/35-series high performance summer tires, rear windshield wiper,
triple outlet sport exhaust system, adaptive cruise control, lane
keep assist, and much more!
This stunning example is still new in the wrapper as they say,
having delivered to its first and only owner in August 2024. It now
has just 332 miles on the odometer being driven on the nicest of
days this summer. A very busy international travel schedule has
determined it is best to pass it on for someone else to enjoy.
Complete with original keys, manuals, window sticker, and balance
of factory warranty, it is ready for immediate delivery to a new
lucky owner! Please call with any questions or to discuss purchase
and delivery arrangements.
