Arguably, the only thing that may make rowing through the gears of
a first-generation Pony Car is driving behind the wheel of a
classic muscle car that has been the beneficiary of a few modern
upgrades. This particular 1966 Ford Mustang comes decked out in a
full Silver Blue repaint, which complements the GT-style front
grille, fog lights, and rear valance. And as pretty as this Mustang
is on the surface, it is what lies under that shimmering exterior
that makes this car a genuine Grand Tourer.
Inside, we find a gorgeous blue and white Pony Interior. An
aftermarket center console provides storage, a comfortable armrest,
and a pair of cup holders. The GT theme is continued with a
five-pod gauge cluster, along with a column-mounted tachometer
offset to the left of the steering wheel. A sneaky retro-style head
unit resembles an AM radio, but actually offers satellite and
Bluetooth connectivity, a CD player, and an AUX input providing all
the soundtrack options anyone could wish for.
The real soundtrack, however, is situated beneath that steel hood.
A Blueprint Engines 347 cubic-inch stroker V-8 engine. Equipped
with Blueprint aluminum heads, a performance-oriented cam, a Holley
four-barrel carburetor, a Blueprint aluminum intake manifold, and
long-tube headers, this built small block has been dyno-proven to
produce 416 horsepower and 433 pound-feet of torque at the rear
wheels. That massive power is routed through a Tremec TR3551
five-speed manual transmission before being sent out to an
eight-inch rear end.
