Here is one big, big truck that looks awesome and mean at the same
time. It's a 1986 Chevrolet K30 Silverado 4x4 that has all the
goodies a truck enthusiast would want. The paint job is excellent
and pairs perfectly with the chrome. The wheels and tires give this
beast a menacing look, and with four-wheel drive, it probably can
go anywhere it wants. The chrome front bumper looks great and the
rear has a flush mounted black steel custom bumper, and when you
tie that in with the cowl induction hood, you have one
well-put-together truck. There are also clearance lights on top and
PIAA lights on the grille for added visibility. And for extra
protection, it comes with a spray-in bed liner and two functional
fuel tanks.
The interior is very nicely done with a Charcoal Gray and Black
color theme. The gauge cluster holds its original configuration,
with a mounted AutoGauge tachometer on top of the dashboard. Just
off to the right are your heat and air conditioning controls, and
below that is a JVC AM/FM radio with Aux inputs and Bluetooth. For
steering, you get a GT steering wheel and a tilt steering column
with column shifting, while engaging four-wheel drive requires the
floor shifter. The bench seats look to be in very good shape, as do
the dash, headliner, carpets, and door panels. And along with the
bench seat, it features a center console above for those little
things you usually keep in one.
A big truck like this needs big power, and that's exactly what this
Chevy has. Under the hood is a BluePrint 540 cubic-inch crate
engine that's been dynoed at 704 horsepower and 703 lb-ft of
torque. This engine is equipped with aluminum BluePrint heads, a
healthy cam, and a Weiand intake with a Holley 4-barrel carburetor.
Power is sent through a TH400 transmission that connects to axles
that harbor 4.56 gears. For suspension, both the front and rear use
leaf springs and shocks-two sets of shocks per side in the front
and three shocks per side in the rear.
This beautiful truck rides on 22-inch Luxx wheels wrapped in
massive 40x15.50R22 Fury tires. Front power disc brakes combined
with rear power drum brakes bring this beast to a stop. And for a
sound that matches its monstrous vibe, the engine exhales through
long-tube headers, dual exhaust, and a set of Flowmasters.
