I am selling this car for a couple that moved from Washington state to Massachusetts. It has been in storage in Kimberly, Idaho for 6 years now. Anyway I took it out of storage for them and cleaned it up so it would sell.
It is a 1982 Mazda RX7 GSL which they are second owners since 1988 which makes 38 years owners. After talking to him [the owner] the engine was totally replaced in Eugene, Oregon at 200,000 miles with a Hayes Rotary motor which is identical to the 12A two rotor wankel. At that point he spent $200 extra to put titanium rings instead of factory rings. At that time they went threw the 5 speed transmission, changed the clutch and pressure plate new even changing the radiator new. They even change the drive line u-joints with stronger chrysler u- joints by latheing the yoke holes larger to fit. he also change the back springs and shocks from a 280Z which handles way better than the stock springs. Later he installed a newer carburetor but not sure what model it is.
I know this car runs strong and handles very well. I do know it needs a manifold gasket replaced on it for it will backfire because of the leaking exhaust. The paint is fair except for a few spots here and there. It does have very minimal rust just behind the rear mud flaps bot not serious. With a little body works and a new paint job this little sports car would shine and run to old glory. By the way he change the 13" rims to 14" Italian special rims but missing 1 center hub cap.
