Description:
This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro coupe is equipped with the Z10 option,
which added the RS and SS packages and a Dover White paint and
Hugger Orange Z/28-style stripe livery similar to the Z11 Indy 500
pace car package available for convertibles. This example is said
to have been found in a barn by the current owner in the 2000s and
subsequently refurbished. Power is provided by a 396ci V8 paired
with a replacement three-speed Turbo Hydramatic automatic
transmission, and additional equipment includes concealed
headlights, front and rear spoilers, power steering, 15? Rally
wheels, power-assisted disc brakes, front bucket seats, a
push-button FM radio, air conditioning, and a four-barrel
carburetor.
Interior:
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered
in black vinyl. Woodgrain trim accents the dashboard and center
console, and additional appointments include air conditioning, a
push-button FM radio, lap belts for four occupants, and bright
Fisher-branded sill plates. The wood-rimmed three-spoke steering
wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a clock, and a tachometer with
a 6k-rpm redline. Auxiliary gauges for amperage, coolant
temperature, fuel level, and oil pressure are housed in the center
console.
Exterior:
The 15? Rally wheels are mounted with E70-15 Goodyear Wide Tread GT
tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and stopping power
is provided by power-assisted four-wheel discs. Cars optioned as
such were all finished in Dover White with Z/28-style stripes in
Hugger Orange, and had a rear spoiler, a special ducted hood, and
concealed headlights.
Drivetrain:
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a replacement three-speed
TH400 automatic transmission sourced from a 1968 model. The 396ci
V8 is fed by a four-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 350
horsepower.
