INTRODUCTION: This is the one collectors dream of, a real 442 with
its numbers-matching motor, transmission, rear end, and original
factory colors! Add in the factory Ram Air and factory Cold Air
induction, and you've got the ultimate muscle setup. 1970 was the
pinnacle year for the 442, and this car is a prime example of
why-rare, correct, and investment worthy.
EXTERIOR: What a handsome car, the body lines are great and that
optional ram air hood knocks it out of the park! Repainted its
original Sherwood Green metallic, with the white it is beautiful.
It's a base coat/clear coat and the metallic is laid out evenly.
The clear coat is polished very smoothly. The stripes are painted
on correctly. The body is exceptional including the hood. There is
no rust or damage and the panels fit right. It looks like most of
the chrome has been replaced including the emblems which are
correctly spaced. The windshield and vinyl top were replaced. It's
rolling on SS1 wheels wrapped in BFG tires.
INTERIOR: The pearly white interior really compliments the green
exterior. Overall, it's in very well taken care of, unabused
condition. The front seats look like they've just been
reupholstered and the door panels have been replaced. On the floor
it has 442 embroidered mats, a nice original center console and
full set of original seatbelts. There's an extra set of keys and an
owner's manual in the glove box. The dash is real clean with no
cracks, original radio and sport steering wheel. The headliner
looks original and in good shape, the dome light works.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The first thing you'll notice is that big ram
air induction air cleaner assembly! Right below that is its
original, VIN # matching 455 making 365 horsepower. Stock
manifolds, carb, valve covers and even the heat riser tube. It is
upgraded with HEI ignition. This 442 features factory air
conditioning that blows cold along with power steering and power
brakes. The cooling system is complete and authentic. It's a clean
and orderly compartment.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and the jamb were painted
very nicely. Inside is really clean metal with a professionally
sprayed spatter finish. It has reproduction weatherstrip, decals
and the felt Oldsmobile two-piece mat. It's also complete with an
SS1 wheel on a new tire for a spare and the jack assembly.
UNDERSIDE: Very proper and well maintained. The floors and braces
are clean metal painted black. It features the rally suspension
which includes boxed rear control arms, front and rear swaybars.
There are disc brakes in front, drum in back and a working e-brake
assembly. The factory style exhaust was replaced and has the
trumpet tips going through the bumper. Looking up at the motor it
is clean with a correct starter. It has its original, VIN #
matching Turbo 400 trans. In back it has its original code SF 3.23
posi 12 bolt rear end.
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we
built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and
hired a team of technicians to service the essentials on every car
we sell.
CONCLUSION:1970 442-muscle at its finest! Factory Ram Air, stunning
colors, and jaw-dropping good looks. The ultimate head-turner-don't
wait, this one won't last!
For nearly 30 years, I, Jay Grams, have personally written the
highlights for almost every car in our collection. What I provide
is my professional opinion based on my experience with these
vehicles. However, opinions can vary, and I strongly recommend a
personal inspection to form your own view. Our sales team is always
available to answer any questions you may have. One great option is
to request a personalized walk-around video, where we can showcase
the car and share our team's insights. **Our cars are displayed
within a museum setting. If you are interested in a specific
vehicle, please schedule an appointment with a salesperson to view
it. Without an appointment, there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you decide to purchase a car, your admission will be
refunded, and you'll receive a one-year museum membership.
