This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air is among the most recognizable American
automobiles of all time, an icon of its age. In the final year of
the model's third generation, it offered an intoxicating blend of
style, performance and features with its freshly designed front end
and tastefully executed tailfins.
The Matador Red paint amplifies every curve and fin of this iconic
two-door hardtop. Chrome details accentuate the body lines from
bumper to bumper. This classic Bel Air is loaded with desirable
accessories that include fender skirts, continental kit, blue-dot
tail light lenses, twin antennas, deluxe spinner wheel covers and
ribbed trunk molding, as well as Coker Classic wide whitewall
radial tires that plant this classic American firmly on the
road.
The red and white interior takes you back to the golden age of
automotive design. Bench seats wrapped in vinyl provide the perfect
spot to control this machine. The restored dash houses an JVC AM/FM
cassette player for cruising music. Power steering makes navigation
effortless.
Under the hood of this classic is well detailed and largely stock
in appearance, however the engine has been upgraded to a 350 cubic
inch V8 mated to a TH350 automatic transmission. A cleverly painted
Edelbrock intake and Edelbrock carburetor are partially obscured by
a stock-looking black air cleaner. Painted valve covers with the
Chevrolet script and a retro battery cover add to the period look
of the engine bay. Other upgrades include dual exhaust, power
steering, an alternator conversion, power brake booster and
dual-reservoir master cylinder that are linked to front disc
brakes. The control arm front suspension with coil springs pairs
with rear leaf springs for a balanced ride.
