To say that this 1972 Chevrolet C10 Stepside was merely "restored"
would be doing it a disservice. It was treated to a complete
frame-off build, leaving it with a level of curb appeal that would
be pretty hard to match. All the right aesthetic boxes were checked
during the process. It boasts an outstanding maroon paint job with
a shine that seems to be coming from way beneath the surface. Its
color-matched bumpers and door handles combine with deleted chrome
from front to back to maximize this Chevy's aggressive appearance.
And take a look at that stance! Lowered and leveled, but still
leaving enough ground clearance to make for worry-free driving in
everyday conditions. This is one very sharp vintage pickup.
Inside the doors, you'll find an essentially brand-new interior
that features a pair of black vinyl-clad bucket seats sitting
astride a center console that blends in perfectly while offering
cupholders as well as some welcome interior storage space. The
carpet below has a very fresh appearance that indicates it was
installed not long ago. An aftermarket tilt column is now in place,
putting the steering wheel in just the right position, and the
upgraded gauge cluster looks very sharp and complements the painted
maroon dash area that surrounds it. The bed area in the back has
received its share of attention as well and is lined with wood
planks that are in great shape.
This classic Stepside is a blast to drive. It features a
super-strong 396 cubic-inch V8 that's fed by a Holley Double Pumper
carburetor, and its abundant power becomes obvious with just a tap
on the accelerator. The engine sits in a very clean engine bay,
dressed up with a CVF Front Runner serpentine pulley system, and
crowned by an aluminum manifold, and it exhales into a pair of long
tube headers that lead out to Flowmaster mufflers for a great,
aggressive exhaust tone. Power steering makes this standout truck
easy to navigate, while power brakes that include discs up front
give it all the fade-resistant stopping ability it needs.
