INTRODUCTION: How American: A red-white-blue Trans Am! Same owner
for the past 25 years, I know because I sold it to him! Nicely
optioned with the deluxe interior, air conditioning, power windows
and door locks. Numbers matching 400 engine that runs great and can
be driven anywhere. 75,000 original miles, it's always been very
well kept and well maintained. The owner enjoyed the car and traded
it in just to try something different.
EXTERIOR: It has been repainted the factory color then polished to
a slick, soft finish, and they did a great job with it too. When
looking down the side of the body, everything is nice and straight
with beautiful smooth contours. All the panels are very well
aligned with great consistent gaps all the way around. The long
heavy doors do not sag when opened and close easily with minimal
effort. The scoops on the fenders, louvered rear window cover, and
splitter exhaust tips look so tough. All the glass is nice and
clear. The front grill and headlights are in great shape. The tail
lights appear to be original and in fantastic condition as well.
All of the decals were replaced when repainted.
INTERIOR: It's hard to tell if the deluxe interior is all original
or if certain items have been refurbished. Anyway it goes, it's in
great condition, the dash pad is not cracked, the headliner is not
sagging, the door panels are not torn, the center console is
extremely clean and the steering wheel looks excellent. The seats
were totally rebuilt and feel very comfortable. The gauges appear
to be all original and the factory speedometer displays less than
76,000 miles since new. The factory radio is still in place but a
modern digital unit was installed beneath it. The gauge bezel with
its machine turned finish is one of my favorites ever. The
carpeting is in great shape and it even has the original style
floor mats. The dome light is working.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Very stock looking! The Shaker style Hood scoop
is functioning and it also has a cold air intake going through the
fender. It is equipped with air conditioning, power steering, and
power brakes. Everything appears to be proper, the battery is
correctly secured, plus the horns and squirters are hooked up. It
looks like the alternator was recently replaced and the correct fan
shroud is still in place. The underside of the hood and firewall
appear to have factory original paint. Also, the original cowl tag
is still secured.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The underside of the trunk lid and inside the
jamb both have nice and shiny paint just like the exterior. The
weatherstrip is soft and pliable and it also has a jack sticker.
Inside is a space saver spare tire, tire inflator canister, and
jack assembly. The trunk mat appears to be original. It also seems
to have a solid rust-free trunk pan with the factory original
spatter finish paint.
UNDERSIDE: Very nice and clean original underside! The components
have been well maintained and function excellently. The steering
components are in great condition and the front end is nice and
tight. It has front and rear sway bars. The Radial Tuned Suspension
still provides a sports car like ride quality that will keep you
cutting corners all day and night. It's outfitted with power front
disc brakes that can stop you on a dime and the emergency brake is
hooked up. The exhaust system has been replaced and includes a
catalytic converter, transverse muffler, and the very attractive
splitter exhaust tips. When looking up at the 400 cubic inch V8 and
Turbo 350 automatic transmission everything appears stock looking
and in great condition. The drive shaft appears to have been
rebuilt at some point and transfers the power to a 10-bolt posi
rear end. The floors appear to be solid and rust-free with a thin
undercoating and satin black paint.
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we
built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and
hired a team of technicians to service the essentials on every car
we sell.
CONCLUSION: What a blast from the past! This is a gorgeous car that
has always been well cared for and that's apparent in the overall
condition. Have fun and look totally rad with this great driver
that's not going to drain the 401K!
For nearly 30 years, I, Jay Grams, have personally written the
highlights for almost every car in our collection. What I provide
is my professional opinion based on my experience with these
vehicles. However, opinions can vary, and I strongly recommend a
personal inspection to form your own view. Our sales team is always
available to answer any questions you may have. One great option is
to request a personalized walk-around video, where we can showcase
the car and share our team's insights. **Our cars are displayed
within a museum setting. If you are interested in a specific
vehicle, please schedule an appointment with a salesperson to view
it. Without an appointment, there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you decide to purchase a car, your admission will be
refunded, and you'll receive a one-year museum membership.
