Turning heads is what this 1954 Chevrolet 3100 is all about.
Sitting low to the ground and wearing an eye-popping red and black
paint job, no one will miss this truck whether it's driving by or
parked at a car show. The red-painted wheels with whitewalls are an
interesting change from the common chrome wheel choice. The famous
front grille looks awesome with the chromed-out bumper and hood
ornament. The side-exit exhaust adds a great touch before you move
to the back, where a rear chrome bumper, taillights, and tailgate
setup complete the look. Inside, the truck bed offers an attractive
black-and-red flooring along with protective side coverings. It not
only looks good for show but also works well for light hauling
duties.
The interior carries on the red-and-black theme beautifully. Both
the bench seat and door panels are wrapped in red and black vinyl.
The steering wheel has an original/retro style and features a tilt
function. The dashboard is in good shape and fitted with Omega
Kustom Instrument Company aftermarket gauges. A long floor shifter
is easy to reach, surrounded by clean, nicely fitted black
carpeting.
The engine bay is painted black and contrasts nicely with the
engine's Chevy Orange paint and "Heart Beat of America" chrome
valve covers. An aluminum radiator helps the motor stay cool while
also providing heat for the interior. Power comes from a 350
cubic-inch V8 with an Edelbrock intake and Edelbrock carburetor.
The transmission is a TH400 3-speed automatic paired with a 10-bolt
rear end. The front suspension is a Mustang II clip with tubular
control arms, coil springs, and rack-and-pinion steering, while the
rear suspension features a solid axle with shocks and leaf springs.
At all four corners are 15-inch red-painted steel wheels wrapped in
215/75R15 Toyo tires with a 2016 date code. For that cool cruising
sound, dual exhaust pipes run through Flowmaster mufflers and exit
in front of the rear tires.
