This is a long, big-body 1968 Chevrolet Impala Custom. Its gold
body color and black vinyl top give this muscle car a sophisticated
look-one that pairs perfectly with the beautiful chrome rims, trim,
bumpers, and grille. The stance is right on point, the exhaust
tailpipes exit cleanly, and all the emblems are in their proper
places. You really can't go wrong with a car that looks so subtle
yet makes such a huge statement.
The interior carries on the low-key stock vibe. The gold vinyl
bench seats are in good shape, as are the door panels and
headliner. The carpets are well-kept and protected by a nice set of
rubber floor mats in the front and rear. A stock-appearing tilt
steering wheel and stock gauge cluster with easy-to-read gauges are
complemented by two additional aftermarket gauges mounted under the
driver's side of the dashboard. To the left of the gauge cluster
are the climate controls, and beneath that sits the radio. The
stereo is a JVC head unit offering AM/FM/CD/AUX Satellite with
Bluetooth connectivity. Nice speakers are installed in the front
kick panels, along with 6x9 speakers in the rear deck. The deck lid
and trunk are very clean, adding to the generous space this
big-body vehicle already provides.
Under the hood, the engine bay presents well with chrome valve
covers and a chrome air cleaner cover. The engine block is painted
the correct Chevy Orange. Power comes from a 350 cubic-inch V8
paired with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock intake.
Backing it is a TH200-4R 4-speed automatic transmission paired with
a 10-bolt rear end. The suspension consists of an independent front
setup with control arms and coil springs, while the rear features a
solid axle with trailing arms, a panhard bar, and shocks. The car
rides on 17-inch American Racing wheels wrapped in 255/55R17 Kumbo
tires (date code 2022). Stopping power comes from new front power
disc brakes and rear power drums.
