For Sale: 1980 International Scout II in San Antonio, Texas

Vehicle Description

Up for sale is my 1980 custom build International Scout 2WD.  I've been building classic cars for the past 20 years.  I keep what I build for me for a number of years, then run out of room and sell one or two to make room for what I'm working on next.  In this case, I'm retiring and downsizing, so I'm not going to have room for everything in the near future, so I'm selling a few of my builds.

This Scout has gone through a full frame off restoration, zero rust.  I have hundreds of pics of the entire process that I can share.  The custom build includes a reframe of the Scout onto a GM G Body frame with a full GM drivetrain.  The body and all removable components (doors, fenders, hood, body) were removed, primed and painted Classic Turquoise.  The frame was powder coated satin black, then the Scout was reassembled.  I’ll provide vehicle section updates:

1) Body & Exterior – new rear quarter panel on the passenger side.  New parking lights, taillights, headlights, heavy duty bumpers, new mirrors, new American Racing Baja wheels including new General Grabber tires, with a full spare.  All new weatherstripping and window seals.  New door vents and door latches.  New fuel tank, sending unit, and fuel line. New door lock mechanisms.  New Soft Topper top, which is easy to remove if you want to go topless.

2) Electrical: Full new electrical wiring from American Autowire.

3) Engine Bay: Newly built 350 350.  This is a newly built (325 miles) Chevy 350 with 350 HP with Camel Hump heads.  Engine was tuned by Alamo Speedshop here in San Antonio.  New aluminum radiator with dual heavy-duty fans.  New Horns.  March pulley system.  All new Edelbrock components - intake, water pump, fuel pump, aluminum valve covers, and aluminum air cleaner.  New high amp alternator, new power steering system, new Brawler 600 CFM carburetor.

4) Rest of drive train: Newly built TH400 transmission (325 miles), custom made drive shaft, fully rebuilt Dana 44 posi rear end with new axles, gears, seals, etc…

5) Suspension, Brakes, and Exhaust: Full new suspension (control arms, UMI performance sway bars (front & rear), shocks, springs.  New 2 ½” exhaust with Hedman ceramic coated headers , new Walker mufflers, and chrome tips.  All new power brakes – brake booster, master cylinder, brake lines, front disc, rear drum.

6) Interior: New dash pad.  Dash and glovebox were stripped and powder coated satin black.  New steering column and steering wheel, new Alpine Bluetooth stereo, new 6.5” speakers.  New Sidewinder automatic shifter.  New Scat front seats.  New windshield, all new gauges (Auto Meter), switches (ignition, headlight, dimmer, etc…).  New Vintage Air heater.  New glove box components.  New door panel and arm rests.

I’m sure I’m forgetting some items, so I’ll update as time goes on.  This is a complete new build of a 1980 International Scout, 2WD.  If you plan to go offroading, this is not the Scout for you, but if you’re looking for an awesome running and looking Scout for cruising around, this is a great option.  I've added many pics and a walk around video.  If you need any additional information, feel free to reach out to me and I'll call you in short order.  I’ve spent $54K on this build and I have all receipts which will go with the scout.
