It's hard to beat the wind in your hair from behind the wheel of a
full-sized American classic. The last drop-top Olds would produce
for fifteen years (until the 1990 Cutlass Supreme), this 1975
Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale Convertible represents the end of an
era, and with its full Ebony Black repaint and complementing silver
pinstripes, this car is as collectible as it is enjoyable.
Inside, we find a captivating Dark Oxblood Red vinyl interior. A
pair of plush bucket seats, each with a folding armrest, offers
plenty of room for the front occupants, while a standard bench in
the back doubles the available seating area. The custom Artis
Forged wheel, created to tie it together with the same style
wheels, stands as the center of attention. Beyond the wheel sits a
horizontal 100 mph speedometer, fuel gauge, and drive indicator for
the column-shifted transmission. To the left sits a set of simple
toggle switches and sliding controls for HVAC activation.
Under that expansive hood, we find a massive 455 cubic-inch V-8
engine. Topped with a single four-barrel carburetor, this big block
typically made about 210 horsepower and 375 pound-feet of torque
(both SAE net) when it as new. A single factory exhaust kept things
civilized. Power is routed through a TH400 three-speed automatic
transmission before being sent out to the 12-bolt rear, which
transfers those ponies to the pavement via those colossal 26-inch
Artis wheels shod in wide 275/25R-26 low-profile rubber.

This 1975 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale Convertible rides on a
suspension consisting of an independent front that uses coil
springs, shocks, along with upper and lower control arms. A live
axle rear also uses coil springs and shocks tuned for comfort over
sport. Not only serving as the final drop-top Oldsmobile would make
for a decade and a half, only about 7,181 of these were ever
produced, making it a relatively rare item to come across. So, if
you want to feel the wind in your hair from behind the wheel of
this comfortable cruiser, don't wait, call today!
