This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro L30 Convertible is a highly documented,
investment-grade Gen 1 Camaro that represents one of the rarer and
more desirable configurations offered during the car's debut year.
It is equipped with the L30/M20 RPO option package, which General
Motors recognized as a true performance package, and it retains its
numbers-matching drivetrain. This combination makes it a standout
collector's piece for anyone seeking originality, documentation,
and pedigree in a first-generation Camaro.
Finished from the factory in Bolero Red (Body Code R) with a white
convertible top (Code 1) and Parchment custom bucket seat interior
(Code 797-Z), this Camaro is a striking example of period-correct
styling. A repaint and mechanical restoration were completed
between 2003-2004, with a full binder of records included, and the
car still shows very well today with only minor imperfections
consistent with a 20+ year-old restoration. The overall
presentation is authentic and appealing, highlighting its
well-preserved nature.
Mechanically, this Camaro carries its original L30 327ci 275hp V8,
paired with the M20 wide-ratio 4-speed manual transmission and a
12-bolt 3.07 Positraction rear end. The engine and drivetrain have
been extensively documented with matching block, head, intake,
carburetor, and accessory casting numbers and dates. Everything
from the Tonawanda engine pad stamp (April 10, 1967) to the Saginaw
transmission build date and the 12-bolt rear stamping confirms its
originality. The block casting is 3892657, the heads are 3890462,
and it retains its original Quadrajet carburetor, distributor,
water pump, and alternator, all with proper 1967 date codes. This
level of component accuracy makes this Camaro a true standout.
Factory options add further desirability, including power top (Code
D), tinted glass (Code E), center console (Code G), Z23 Interior
Decor, and Z21 Style Trim Group, plus the Deluxe Seat Belts (Code
Y). Other important touches include its factory RPO Z21 style trim,
original air cleaner (included with sale), and spare tire and jack.
The subframe has been powder coated for longevity, and the car
benefits from a detailed mechanical restoration while still
carrying much of its authentic character.
Inside, the car retains its Parchment custom interior, complemented
by the factory center console and RPO Z23 decor group enhancements.
The documentation for this Camaro is extensive, including its build
sheets, casting verifications, and a binder of restoration
receipts.
With its factory-correct Bolero Red finish, original
numbers-matching drivetrain, desirable L30/M20 performance package,
and a long list of factory options, this 1967 Camaro Convertible is
a collector-grade car with strong historical significance. It has
been preserved, restored, and documented to a high level, making it
an exceptional choice for any Camaro enthusiast or muscle car
collector.
