32,296 original miles. Fantastic color combination. Beautifully
preserved, everything works. Recent extensive service including new
tires. Runs and drives properly. A fantastic icon from the era of
American land yachts!Cadillac called this particular shade of dark
metallic blue 'Black Sapphire Metallic,' and it works extremely
well on the big Cadillac's angular bodywork. Don't be fooled, it's
blue, not black, and given the striking color combination with the
red leather interior, it was surely custom ordered by the original
owner. That owner also selected virtually every option on the sheet
except a power moonroof, leaving us with one of the finest '80s
Cadillacs we've ever seen. It wears 95% original paint, with the
only areas being some touch-up behind the front wheels that was
professionally done a few years ago. Otherwise it is untouched,
including the bumper fillers, which are still in excellent shape
with no cracks or other signs of failure. The matching blue padded
roof is in great condition, too, giving the Cadillac and even more
formal look. All the bright chrome shines up nicely, and the bright
red pinstripe along the flanks adds the perfect finishing touch. If
you like the big Cadillacs of yore, this is an excellent choice. The
red leather interior is likewise beautifully preserved with no
stains, rips, tears or other maladies. Even the headliner is firmly
affixed to the roof, a common issue with GM cars of this era. The
long list of options includes power seats, windows, locks, and
mirrors, automatic climate control (blows ice cold!), tilt steering
column, cruise control, rear defogger, Twilight Sentinel, and much
more. The original AM/FM/cassette stereo has been replaced with a
RetroSound radio with Bluetooth, and it looks almost
factory-installed?nice! However, as a result of the radio switch,
the power antenna no longer works automatically and has to be
extended manually. You'll note that the headlight and taillight
monitors work, that the dash pad and faux wood on the various
surfaces is still brilliantly glossy, and the car has never been
smoked in and the ash trays are like new. The massive trunk is
still outfitted with its original mats, space-saver spare with
cover, and a complete jack assembly.Power comes from an
Oldsmobile-derived 307 cubic inch V8 with a 4-barrel carburetor,
which is impeccably smooth and bulletproof reliable. Performance
is, of course, modest, but once it's up to speed, this car will
easily cruise at speeds that will get you a night in jail in all 50
states. Obviously the engine has been well maintained and the
engine bay is quite clean with no modifications or other
questionable workmanship. It starts easily, idles smoothly, and
generally works the way you'd expect a top-of-the-line luxury car
to work. The A/C has been upgraded to R134a refrigerant, so it will
be easy to service in the future, and recent service work includes
belts, hoses, and all the fluids. Underneath there's a 4-speed
automatic transmission with a tall overdrive and thanks to 2.73
gears out back, it even pulls down decent fuel economy for a
massive luxury car. The floors are unmarked and a light dusting of
undercoating provides some protection. The exhaust system is
hushed, as it should be, and the ride is pillowy smooth. This is an
American luxury car in the most traditional sense of the word.
Factory 15-inch wheels carry chrome wire wheelcovers and 225/75/15
whitewall radial that were installed in 2021. Documentation
includes the factory owner's manual and booklets, as well as a
stack of maintenance receipts. For fans of traditional body-on-frame
construction, effortless cruising, and isolated interiors, nothing
can beat the Cadillac Brougham. This one offers low mileage,
exceptional maintenance, and a fantastic color combination, which
all help make it a very special car. If you've been looking for
something that drives right and still has a lot of presence, this
Brougham deserves a closer look. Call today!Harwood Motors always
