Up for sale is this gorgeous black Jaguar XJS Coupe. Nearly flawless body and paint, with absolutely no rust on the body or undercarriage. Originally sold in Texas, the car spent the majority of its life in the dry climate of Montana. Always kept clean and stored in a climate controlled garage.
The car starts and runs great, with no hesitation or other issues. The V12 engine provides plenty of power, and the transmission shifts well with no hang-ups or slipping. The steering feels smooth as well, though it could use an alignment. The tires are flat spotted from sitting, so that could be a contributing factor. Overall, it is a very smooth driving car. The brakes feel great and stop the car well, with no noises or vibrations.
The exterior of the car is in exceptionally nice shape. All of the chrome trim is straight and undamaged. There is some slight peeling of the chrome on the passenger side headlight bucket, and some fading on the rear decklid trim and rear bumper plastic. The wheels are in nice shape overall, though the chrome is starting to peel in a couple of places.
The interior shows some wear, but overall is in decent shape for the age and mileage. The front seats show some wear, but no major cracks or tears. The rear seat upholstery is in very good condition. Some of the woodgrain panels could use refinishing and the headliner will likely need to be replaced. Fairly minor details that could be taken care of fairly easily.
Mechanically, the car is sound, with no major issues that I can find. The engine oil pan does leak, and there is a leaky power steering hose as well.
One concern is that the A/C is not functional and one of the hoses has been removed.
Overall, this is a very solid car that would make an excellent driver as-is, or a basis for a more extensive reconditioning or restoration.
