For those nice days when you want to enjoy the weather and a sense
of freedom on the road, or those days you want to hit the trails
and ride a little rough, here's a 1989 Jeep Wrangler that can cure
that driving itch. This red and tan gem has been well-taken care
of. It's solid inside and out. Its paint and interior are believed
to be original, and the same goes for the miles on the odometer.
This Jeep isn't about driving too conservative, it's about being
outside and having fun.
The interior starts with a charcoal grey dashboard, accompanied by
matching door panels, a black center console with storage, and tan
bucket seats in the front with a bench seat in the back. A tan roll
bar is in place for safety and to support the tan removable
soft-top. The speedometer, tachometer, and all other gauges are in
stock configuration, and the radio and heat controls are where they
belong. This Jeep is a true survivor.
To add to the Wrangler's original personality, the 2.5-liter
inline-four is the stock engine for the 1989 model, and that's
exactly what this Jeep houses in the engine bay. The Jeep features
a 5-speed manual transmission with a 4x4 setup, making it versatile
and fun to drive. A Dana 30 front axle and a Dana 35 rear axle are
connected to leaf springs front and back. Power front disc brakes
and power rear drum brakes provide reliable stopping power, while
15-inch American Racing Baja wheels are wrapped in 31x10.50R15
tires. A single exhaust runs all the way back through an
aftermarket muffler, and there are fresh records for a 2025
emissions test. Receipts are also saved for a fresh rebuild of the
2.5-liter engine and more.
