1932 LASALLE TOWN SEDAN 345/B – ONE OF 660 BUILT IN 1932
Conceived in the mid‑1920s by GM President Alfred P. Sloan as a companion marque to bridge the gap between Buick and Cadillac, LaSalle was engineered by the Cadillac Division and styled by a young Harley Earl. Introduced in 1927, LaSalle quickly accounted for roughly a quarter of Cadillac Division sales. The 1932 model offered here—reportedly among Earl’s favorite designs—rides on the long 136-inch wheelbase (standard was 130 inches) and is one of just 660 five-passenger Town Sedans produced that year.
Mechanically, the LaSalle shared its V‑8 and major components with Cadillac. This example is recognized as a Full Classic by the Classic Car Club of America and was used by the Cadillac-LaSalle Club as a reference in its Authenticity Manual. Per the Cadillac Motor Car Co. shipping order, it retains its original engine (no. 1100887) and is presented in its original Bandon Green. Factory-correct features confirmed by Cadillac documentation include black rear quarter panels, a color-matched trunk, dual metal tire covers with mirrors, hot‑water heater, and the Heron radiator ornament.
A solid, highly original car, it received a sympathetic restoration some years ago and has been carefully freshened in recent months. The Bandon Green over black fenders present handsomely, with deep gloss and tidy brightwork showing only light, even patina. Body fit is very good. Inside, the original green upholstery remains in excellent condition. On the road, the smooth, easygoing Cadillac‑built V‑8 makes this LaSalle a joy to drive—equally at home on weekend back roads or longer club tours. Rare, elegant, and wonderfully usable, it’s a car that charms from every angle.
This fine example was a solid, sound and highly original car that was treated to a sympathetic restoration some time ago, which has been carefully freshened in recent months. The green over black fenders is a great combination, and the paint is in good order with deep gloss and no major flaws. The body is straight with good body fit, and brightwork is similarly tidy, showing well with just a slight bit of age. When climbing aboard, you are greeted by the original green seat in excellent condition.
Thanks to the smooth and easygoing nature of the engine this Cadillac is simply a joy to drive.
