This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air is powered by a rebuilt Super
Turbo-Fire 283ci V8 engine mated to a Powerglide 2-speed automatic
transmission. The suspension system features independent coil
spring front and live rear axles. It underwent major mechanical
upgrades, followed by an eight-year frame-off restoration using new
old stock (NOS) parts. The body was stripped, dent repair completed
and refinished in its factory two-tone Harbor Blue with a Larkspur
Blue roof. The exterior features polished chrome and stainless
trim, with gold accents on the nose, fenders, quarter-panels, trunk
and Continental kit. It rides on 14-inch body-color wheels with
chrome covers and three-blade spinners wrapped in Coker Classic
whitewall tires, and features electric windshield wipers, door edge
guards, locking gas cap, manual and power antennas, and a
body-color Continental kit with a matching spare. The interior was
restored by Cooks Top Shop and includes blue vinyl and black fabric
bench seats, matching door panels, color-coordinated carpeting with
Chevy-branded rubber mats, and a body-color dashboard with a padded
cover and metallic mesh trim. Amenities include a Wonder Bar radio
with rear speaker, electric clock, air conditioning, Autronic Eye
automatic high beams, traffic light viewer, illuminated compass,
vacuum ashtray, foot-operated windshield washer, and power
steering, brakes, windows and front bench seat. It also features a
parking brake warning light, locking glove box, tissue dispenser
and a Larkspur Blue two-spoke steering wheel with a full horn ring
and third-note horn. Instrumentation includes a 120-mph
speedometer, gear indicator, and gauges for coolant temperature and
fuel level. Systems rebuilt include the power steering with new
lines, gaskets and O-rings and the air conditioning with
nylon-lined cables, new gaskets and R12 recharge in January 2025.
This Bel Air also had a transmission reseal and an NOS power brake
master cylinder was installed. The engine received an oil and
filter change within the last 500 miles. Brakes were upgraded with
stainless inserts, new lines and softer compound shoes. According
to the seller, the car starts easily, shifts smoothly and has a
trouble-free driveline, with well-balanced brakes and suspension.
This Bel Air includes a reproduction Window Sticker, NOS tool kit,
DuPont paint swatches, owner's manual, brochure, retro-style
literature with commemorative box, the Summer 1998 issue of Chevy
Classics magazine featuring the car, a clear title, and photos of
the underbody, dual exhaust and rebuilt suspension. ** PREVIEW
