Renowned bike builder Paul Cox has teamed up with Mohawk Group to
create the "Hot and Heavy Chopper," a one-of-a-kind slab-side
shovel chopper based on a coveted 1966 Harley-Davidson engine -
part of the highly regarded 1965-69 series. This engine began with
a set of original Harley-Davidson motor cases and was rebuilt from
the inside out at Paul Cox Industries (PCI). Featuring a unique
blend of vintage and modern elements, it retains many original
internals but is enhanced with mechanical upgrades, extensive hand
machining and modern performance refinements. Every aluminum engine
component was hand-blended at the seams and machine-polished for a
seamless, high-quality finish. Displacement is 88ci, with ignition
via a Morris Magneto and fuel delivered through an S&S
carburetor. The Baker 4-speed transmission includes both electric
start and traditional kick start, and the shifting is done
jockey-style by hand, with a mechanical foot clutch. The chassis is
a custom rigid frame built entirely at PCI using a combination of
old and new parts. All sheet metal work, including the fender and
gas tank, was hand-formed in-house using hammering, planishing and
English Wheel finishing techniques. Polishing is also done on-site,
allowing for subtle contour adjustments throughout the build
process. The front end features Cox's signature Girder-style fork,
inspired by vintage Indian and Crocker motorcycles. Cox has been
perfecting his version of this fork for over 20 years, and each one
is truly unique. Primary drive is handled by Cox's custom
single-row chain, perfectly paired with the final chain drive. The
wheels are hand-laced with spokes and wrapped in Avon tires for
classic style and solid performance. The paint job ? custom colors
and shimmering metal flakes from Painthuffer Metalflake ? was
applied at PCI for a flawless, head-turning finish. Finally, Cox
completed the build with handcrafted leatherwork and engraving, all
done in-house using the finest hides and meticulous attention to
detail. 100% of the hammer price from the sale of this vehicle will
benefit the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Since 9/11, the Tunnel to
Towers Foundation has been helping America's heroes by providing
mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder
families with young children and by building specially adapted
smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first

homelessness and helping America to Never Forget September 11,
