1949 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible Project car.
Detailed restoration underway - ready for the next owners completion. Excellent paintwork completed - ready for wiring and interior. Currently located in Santa Barbara California, and the sale may include enclosed trailer. Work completed so far:
The Frame was powder coated Most of the chrome and stainless steel trim were rejuvenated; The 331 CI OHC V8 engine and transmission were overhauled in 2013 - They have not been operated, and both been garaged since; Differential was overhauled around 2018; There are extra parts – generator, starter, regulator, etc that can be used for parts. and a complete wiring harness had been installed but taken out when it was decided to take the body off for repair and painting. Brakes were overhauled with new lines. Hydraulic cylinders were purchased new along with new lines. The hydraulic pump was working when hydraulics were last used. There is an extra hydraulic pump but in poor condition. New fuel tank with new fuel lines. Fuel has never been in tank. Carburetor was overhauled but never checked for functioning. There is new rubber for the windshields. The old windshields can be used but may want to be replaced. The steering box may need to be overhauled again. Any damage/rust to body has been repaired. There is no Bondo in the body. The body has been completely primed and painted. Paint code will be supplied. The front bumper brackets need to be reworked as the bumper on the right side is too close to fender. Rear springs have been overhauled. Interior trim has been painted. Interior components can be used as templates/pattern. Springs on two seats show rust. The firewall installation should be replaced. The side windows are in good condition as well as the window mechanisms. The interior door handles and trim are in good condition. The windshield wipers under the dash were in good condition when taken out. Convertible top was in good shape when removed . Transmission cover has been repainted. Radio was overhauled but never used. There are several under front seat heaters and motors – take your pick. Tires will need to be replaced. Rims have been repainted. A box of receipts will also be provided.
