The heritage of the California Motorcycle Company (CMC) is impressive, dating back to 1896, when the California Motor Company produced the Marks Motorcycle, which was the first American-made motorcycle. In 1997, CMC Motorcycles was the first manufacturer to offer semi-custom motorcycles with 12 different models that you could choose your paint, wheels, and other options on. In 1999, Indian bought them out and they started producing Chiefs out of their Gilroy location. This particular example is a Stinger, which boasts a powder-coated stretched frame with a chrome swing arm. Power comes from an 88” S&S V-Twin and is put to the rear end via a CMC close ratio 5-speed tranny. It has a long list of chrome and billet items, such as the CMC calipers, rotors, CMC triple trees, CMC mirrors, switch covers, switches, the chrome front end and much more. Factory upgrades on this bike include the upswept exhaust and the billet CMC wheels. Other notable features include the internal wiring, the CMC Gunfighter seat and sweet custom scalloped paint job. It was just recently serviced at which time it was completely inspected, it received new tires, brakes and fork seals as well as all new fluids and filters. There is a ding on the right side of the tank the happened while it was parked. Other than that, the bike is in amazing shape and runs as good as it sounds. We have priced it to sell so if you like what you see don’t wait until it is too late to reach out!
