Description:
This 1959 Ford Country Sedan was built into a street rod several
years ago, and it is powered by a 460ci V8 linked to a C6
three-speed automatic transmission and a Currie 9" rear end.
Chassis modifications include a Fat Man independent front
suspension, rear air shocks, and hydroboost disc brakes, and the
car rides on Boze 17" and 20" wheels. The interior was customized
with leather and ostrich skin upholstery, bucket seats, a contoured
center console, a Vintage Air climate-control system, Dakota
Digital gauges, a Hurst shifter, power windows, and a DVD head
unit.
Interior:
A custom center console extends down the length of the
four-passenger cabin, which was trimmed in tan leather with
ostrich-skin accents at Twin City Upholstery of Bloomington,
Illinois. The upholstery scheme extends to the contoured door
panels, and color-coordinated carpets line the floors. The
leather-wrapped steering wheel is mounted to a polished tilt column
and frames a Dakota Digital instrument cluster.
Exterior:
The exterior trim and door handles were shaved before the car was
painted in House of Kolor Orion Silver and Planet Green with orange
stripes along the character line. The doors operate on poppers, and
details include tinted glass, dual side mirrors, and rectangular
exhaust outlets. Boze 178" front and 2010" rear wheels are
mounted with 215/40 and 255/35 BFGoodrich g-Force T/A tires
Drivetrain:
The 460ci V8 is believed to have been sourced as an SVO crate
motor, and it has a March Performance accessory drive and an
Edelbrock carburetor mounted on an aluminum intake manifold.
Tubular headers are linked to a dual exhaust system with Hushpower
mufflers. The C6 three-speed automatic transmission is connected to
a Currie 9" rear end with a limited-slip differential.
