F150 XLT Lariat. This great-looking Ford comes to us today with
only 37,820 actual miles on the odometer and a clean CarFax! It is
dressed in what appears to be all original Dark Red and Black paint
that is still in good driver quality condition after 34 years. Up
front, you'll find a chrome horizontal grille flanked by
rectangular enclosed headlights, a chrome bumper with black
rub-guard, and a black chin spoiler. As you move around the side of
the truck, you'll see bright windshield trim, dual extended side
mirrors, wheel lip molding, and black & chrome body side molding
that separates the red upper body from the black base. That's not
all, though; there are also front mud-flaps, Ventshade window
deflectors, Westin Platinum Series tubular stainless steel step
bars, and "F150 XLT Lariat" fender badges. The bed is topped with a
black Swiss cap with side slider windows and red pinstripe accents.
There are 2 gas fill doors on the driver's side of the bed (yes,
it's got dual tanks!). The bed is outfitted with a black Ford bed
liner that's topped with a black rubber mat. Also at the rear of
the truck are another chrome bumper (this one with a plastic
topper), a tow hitch receiver, and a single exhaust on the
passenger side. This whole package rolls down the road on a set of
nice-looking 10-hole alloy wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Dueler HL
tires (except for the driver's rear tire, which has been replaced
with a Michelin XLT A/S).
Lift the hood to reveal a clean stock engine bay with a 5.0-liter
EFI 302ci V-8 at the center. The truck is also equipped with power
steering and working factory A/C. The V-8 is mated to a 4-speed
automatic overdrive transmission that shifts smoothly. Stopping
power comes courtesy of power front disc and rear drum brakes.
Swing open the driver's door and prepare to be impressed by the
immaculately clean and well-preserved red interior. The OEM door
panels look fantastic and feature power windows and locks as well
as speakers for the stereo. The red cloth bench seat is as
comfortable as it is good-looking, and it offers seating for 3 with
a fold-down center armrest. The floors are covered with stain-free
red factory carpet, and the ceiling is covered with a tight red
felt headliner and a working cab dome light. The red dash is
crack-free and is accented by faux burled wood trim that gives it a
luxurious look. The driver is treated to a black leather-wrapped
steering wheel with finger-touch cruise controls. The wheel is on a
fixed column with a column shifter for the automatic transmission.
The dash has factory gauges, a speedometer, and a tachometer (all
work with the exception of the temperature gauge). There are also
switches for the lights, the working 2-speed wipers, and the fuel
tanks. There is a button for the overdrive function but it has
fallen into the dashboard. The overdrive switch is in the "ON"
position, so there is no issue with the transmission shifting into
overdrive as it should (you just can't turn the OD off). In the
center of the dash are controls for the HVAC system that deliver
cold A/C and hot heat on demand with a powerful fan. The stereo is
a factory Ford AM/FM/Cassette model that sounds good and is easy to
use. In the glovebox on the passenger side, you'll find the
original owner's manual portfolio.
