Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1995 Land Rover Defender
90 North American Specification (NAS). This is number 196 of only
500 hardtop models produced in 1995 for the North American market.
Finished in Alpine White, paint meters as original on every panel
except for the left front fender. Presents to a driver standard
inside and out; excellent body, floors and bulkhead; minor
corrosion on rear door. Rear frame section and rear bumper have
been replaced. Factory 16-inch alloy wheels are wearing BF Goodrich
all-terrains with 2018 date codes and nearly full tread remaining.
A Safety Devices safari rack was installed under present enthusiast
ownership and is in like-new condition (we're fond of both the look
and the utility of a safari rack on a D90, and Safety Devices makes
the best one on the market).
Interior is in good condition; the station wagon / hard top models
came with interior carpet for better sound deadening. Front buckets
and rear jump seats are in good condition. All gauges, lights,
horn, wipers, etc. are working. The original Land Rover cassette
stereo is still installed in the center console, but is
inoperative.
Under the hood is a 3.9 liter gasoline V8 mated to a five-speed
manual transmission; we find the Rover V8 to be considerably more
refined (not to mention more powerful) than the Diesel powerplants
usually found in "rest of world" examples. Runs and drives well;
clutch and gearbox feel good with no crunchy synchros. Even with
more than 150,000 miles this NAS truck drives better than most
grey-market imports I have encountered.
