Beautiful restoration and well-documented Jaguar Series II E-Type
FHC (Fixed-Head Coupe) finished in the original factory color of
British Racing Green. According to its Jaguar Daimler Heritage
Trust Certificate, this XKE was delivered via Leyland Motors of New
Jersey to Overseas Motors Corp. in Houston, Texas. Factory options
included Power Steering, AM/FM Radio, Chrome Wire Wheels, Whitewall
Tires, Air Conditioning, Sundym Glass, and Heated Backlight with an
MSRP of $7,287.50.
The exterior paintwork is in excellent condition with precise panel
fit and consistent gaps. All the brightwork and glass are in
excellent condition and display a high level of clarity to the
finish. The interior is pristine, with Wilton wool carpets and
Conley leather upholstery. Equipped with a Jaguar wooden steering
wheel, original Smiths instrumentation, and AM/FM radio. The air
conditioning system has been upgraded with a RetroAir unit that
utilizes the original equipment controls with a period-correct
appearance. Completing the XKE's refined presentation are 15-inch
chrome wire wheels mounted to Vredestein Sprint Classic tires.
This E-Type has had four owners with a long-term Texas ownership
(1970-2005), after which it was sold to a California collector and
ultimately acquired by its current owner in 2008 as a running and
driving XKE. The XKE underwent a meticulous bare-metal restoration,
and the body was finished in a single-stage Glasurit paint. The
interior was trimmed using authentic English materials sourced from
the UK (Suffolk & Turley).
The matching 4.2-liter inline-six engine was disassembled and
inspected, revealing minimal wear and retaining its factory-spec
pistons, an indication of low mileage. The engine was rebuilt with
new piston rings, valves, and seals. The four-speed manual gearbox,
noted for its strong performance, was left untouched, but the
clutch and hydraulic components were replaced. Mechanical
enhancements include a modern RetroAir air conditioning system
integrated with the original factory controls, a larger aluminum
radiator with expansion tank, stainless steel tubular headers and
exhaust, and a 3.07:1 rear axle for improved cruising ability. The
suspension, steering, and braking systems were rebuilt. With over
$25,000 in documented parts receipts, exclusive of labor, the
restoration received several wins, including 3rd in Class at the
Dana Point Concours d'Elegance and 1st in Class at English Motors
at Fairbrook.
The matching 4.2-liter inline-six engine produces 246 horsepower
with 263 lb-ft of torque paired to a manual four-speed transmission
and a four-wheel disc braking system. This Jaguar is accompanied by
its original window sticker, Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust
Certificate, dealer literature, XKs Unlimited parts catalog DVD,
extensive restoration receipts, and 50 years of documented service
history. It is an outstanding opportunity to acquire a beautifully
restored, well-sorted Jaguar XKE Series II Coupe with its matching
engine and timeless styling, ready to show or tour.
