Vehicle Description
Outstanding Dodge W150 4x4 pickup. Fuel injected 318 with 5-speed
manual. Loaded with options including working A/C. Upgraded with
?-ton axles and 4-wheel disc brakes. Nicely documented. A very cool
old Dodge pickup in fantastic condition. This rather impressive 1992
Dodge W150 4x4 pickup has just two owners from new and it doesn't
look like anybody ever used it for work or in foul weather. It's
just super clean inside and out, and even the undercarriage doesn't
look like it has ever seen winter weather. With one repaint in the
original white, it presents extremely well and the all-original
sheetmetal underneath tells you all you need to know about the life
this truck has lived. Panel fit is excellent, with doors that slam
closed without a lot of effort and even gaps all around. The bed is
in very good condition, never having done much hauling, and you'll
note it's equipped with a fifth wheel hitch point if that's the
kind of work you need to do. All the chrome and stainless trim is
beautifully preserved, and even the rubber weather seals are in
fantastic shape. It's incredibly rare for a working-class pickup to
look this good 30+ years later, but here it is. We're extremely
impressed by this Dodge. The red cloth interior was protected by
seat covers for 90% of its life, and it shows. It's bright, vivid,
not faded, and in outstanding condition. The seats are still firm
and comfortable, not broken down and lumpy, and while red is
especially prone to fading in the sun, this interior remains bright
and crisp. The original rubber mats are still on the floor and
aren't cracking and coming apart, and the headliner is intact and
not sagging. Nice! The options list is rather extensive for a
pickup, including working factory A/C, power windows and locks, a
tilt steering column, and cruise control, and it all seems to work
properly. Big, round gauges are easy to read and even the original
AM/FM/cassette stereo system sounds pretty good. The only note is
that the brake warning light is on due to the swap to a ?-ton rear
axle with disc brakes and the factory ABS was disabled. The factory
5-speed manual transmission is actually a pleasure to row through
the gears, with smooth clutch action and proper ratios, and the
overdrive really makes this truck easy-going on the highway. It
also has a shifter for the 2-speed transfer case, which works with
manual-locking hubs to give it impressive off-road capabilities.
There's even a sliding rear window for those days when you don't
need A/C but want a nice breeze through the cab.The 318 cubic inch
'Magnum' V8 received fuel injection for the first time in 1992, and
it makes the Dodge a lot more user friendly. Quick starts, an easy
idle, and good torque all help make this big truck feel at home in
today's world. The engine bay is extremely clean with plenty of
evidence of conscientious maintenance over the years, and it drives
extremely well. Even the original air cleaner and intake tube are
still in place, so you know this truck hasn't been messed with. The
aforementioned 5-speed shifts easily and the upgraded axles have a
disc brake at all four corners to make a noticeable improvement in
braking power. Twin steering stabilizers have been added up front,
and the axles are packed with 3.54/3.55 gears to make this an
effortless highway vehicle. Note that the floors, cab corners, and
body mounts are totally solid and there's no evidence this has ever
been a rusty truck. It's just too clean. The upgraded axles also
permitted the use of 8-lug 16-inch wheels with 265/75/16
Bridgestone radials, which are a lot beefier than the original
15s.Documentation is extensive, including the original window
sticker, brochures, manuals, and a large file of receipts dating
back many years so you know this truck has been treated right. If it
seems like we really like this truck, you're right. Vehicles that
have always been loved and maintained are rare, especially when
they're simple trucks. This one checks a lot of the boxes that
collectors prefer, including options, condition, colors, and
documentation. If you've been looking for a neat old pickup with no
asterisks on it, you've just found a great one. Call today!Harwood
