1989 BMW 635CSI Coupe

A 1989 BMW CSI coupe refers to the BMW 635CSi, a luxury sports coupe produced as part of the BMW 6 Series E24 chassis. It was known for its sleek timeless design, high performance 3.4-liter inline six engine, and comfortable, capable handling for long distance touring. The 635CSi was the final model year for the E24 generation, concluding production in 1989.

For auction is a 1989 BMW 635CSI coupe with a title verified 74,356 actual miles. This car presents in excellent condition and is equipped with a 4-speed automatic and low profile, ZR rated tires.

Exterior
Beautifully sculpted lines of this coupe is a favorite among BMW aficionados, and this one carries Alpine White across its panels with glossy, two stage quality. An aggressive chin spoiler pushes ahead of the pointed nose and grille and houses flat fog lights and intake openings while in back, a rounded tail unobstructed by the flush tail lights ends with a short bumper over twin exhaust tips. Large side windows are borne from the sloping windshield and rear window, resulting in ample visibility for this grand tourer. Alloy wheels specific to the E24 BMW are 17-inch and carry 235/45ZR17 tires and like the rest of the exterior, present in excellent condition. The car is equipped with a solid sunroof, dual sport mirrors, and projector beam headlights.

Interior
Black leather floods the interior including parts of the door panels and both are in great shape. The bucket seats up front are all leather and in nice condition with some patina wrinkles and slight compression of the driver's seat. The rear 2+2 is special in the car world as it affords passengers with a leather wrapped center console and the cockpit-like support of the front buckets. Up front, an efficient and clean instrument cluster accompanied by the Check Control Panel, a series of idiot lights that monitor most systems and a common feature of this era BMWs. The center stack is canted toward the driver of this luxury tourer, and contains vents, the A/C panel, and the AM/FM/Cassette radio along with the requisite lighter and ashtray. Behind it, a stout T-shifter in a brushed track is flanked by more switchgear. The trunk is clean and lined with gray cloth covered panels.

Drivetrain
Under the hood is a clean 3.5 liter SOHC inline six cylinder, fuel injected and rated at 208 horsepower. It's tied to a 4-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels via 3.46 gears in a limited slip differential.

Undercarriage
A single exhaust with a stock style muffler is onboard along with power disc brakes on all four wheels. Independent coil spring suspension is utilized front and rear.

Drive-Ability
This car does everything well, starts, runs, tracks, and handles and it does so with adequate power underfoot. This CSi proved to be well maintained as all functions operate during our short drive around the test loop.
