Only one year saw this 400 cubic-inch V8 under the hood of a
real-deal 442, and this Provincial White machine wears its Cragar
SS wheels like it's ready to own Main Street. Those 15-inch wheels
are paired with 245/60R15 up front and 275/60R15 in the rear,
giving this car a planted, muscle-bound stance. Chrome trim and
bumpers carry a deep shine, and the crisp lines flow from the
sculpted nose to the tail panel with dual exhaust tips peeking out.
A slight window tint adds just enough attitude without taking away
from the classic style.
The interior carries the right muscle car feel with factory-correct
red vinyl, bucket seats, and a center console. The driver's seat
has been refreshed with new foam and springs, while the carpet is
newer for a clean presentation. Factory air conditioning and power
steering add comfort, and seatbelts are in place. The original AM
radio sits in the dash, with discreet aftermarket gauges mounted
below for a touch of extra instrumentation.
The believed-original 400 V8 is topped with a Rochester 4-barrel
carburetor and linked to the Jetaway 2-speed automatic
transmission. A 10-bolt rear end with 3.25 gears handles the power,
while coil spring suspension with sway bars front and rear keeps
the stance level. Power brakes provide confident stopping, and the
dual exhaust with stock-style manifolds delivers a proper muscle
car tone.
