For Sale: 1970 Ford Mustang 429 Super Cobra Jet in San Antonio, Texas

Vehicle Description

Up for sale is my 1970 Ford Mustang Fastback 429 Super Cobra Jet Clone with 36 miles since the build was completed.  I’ve been building classic Mustangs and Chevelles as a hobby for the past 20 years.  I’m currently building another Mustang and two Chevelles, so I’m selling a few of my completed projects (one of the pics shows all three).  This 70 Mustang Fastback 429 Super Cobra Jet has gone through a full restoration with significant performance upgrades in the following areas: 1) Drivetrain: Newly built 429 Cobra Jet Stroker full roller motor (521 stroker) built by Advanced Machine Shop in Atlanta GA, then dyno’d and tuned by Alan Moody Racing in Atlanta GA.  The engine has 612 HP and 640 Ft. lbs of torque and the dyno sheets will go with the car.  MSD 6AL ignition, polished high volume water pump, March pulley kit, Heads are Edelbrock 429 Cobra Jet Heads.  New radiator, fan, shroud, alternator, battery, and Brawler 750 CFM double pumper.  Custom made to fit ceramic coated headers. 3” full exhaust with two Borla mufflers and two resonators to help quiet this beast down a bit.  New fuel tank, fuel lines, and a Holley Blue electric fuel pump and regulator.  New wiper motor, wiper fluid canister, and everything works as it should.  New high torque starter.  The transmission and torque converter is a new TCI Street Fighter C6 transmission rated for 650 HP with a TCI transmission cooler.  The rear end is a new powder coated Quick Performance Ford 9” Traction-Loc (posi) rear end.  The drive shaft was custom made to fit and handle the torque.  2) Suspension, steering, and brakes: New Flaming River steering column and steering wheel, original manual steering, full new suspension (upper and lower control arms, with 2” RideTech lowered front coils, new rear springs, all new Moog steering components)  Front and rear sway bars are a UMI Performance heavy duty kit.  Power brakes with Wilwood disc brakes on all four wheels.  Wilwood parking brake kit.  All new Scott Drake shocks.  3) Wheels: Custom made to fit American Racing staggered wheels with new Z Rated Continental Extreme Contact tires for grip (front wheels are 18x8" with 245 40 ZR18, rear are 18x10" with 295 35 ZR18).  4) Body and Paint: New orange paint.  Every component of the vehicle was broken down to an empty roller, every piece was removed (fenders, hood, doors, glass, trunk, bumpers, valances, headlight and taillight trim, etc…), then painted for 3 layers of orange and 3 layers of clear coat, then reassembled.  Engine bay shock towers were trimmed to allow the engine to fit and still be able to get to the spark plugs and install headers.  New front and rear glass.  All new trim and weather stripping, badges, door strikers, door vents, door sill plates, headlights, tail lights, gas cap, parking lights, reverse lights, locks, horns.  New custom made functioning hood scoop to cover the motor.  New rear and front spoilers, bumpers, wiper arms and wiper blades.  New cowl (old was cut out and the new one welded in), new floor pans, new side mirrors painted to match the car, and all new grill components.  5) Interior: Full new interior including dash pad, dash, center console, 3 point seat belt conversion, rear view mirror, rear seat interior quarter panels, sail panels, Dakota Digital gauges, Custom Auto Sound blue tooth radio, new fiberglass rear package tray with Kenwood 6x9 speakers.  New kick panels, new shifter, new carpet, new headliner, new door panels, handles, cranks, front seat upholstery, new glove box components, new heater box and all related components, new switches, levers, etc.. on the dash.  6) Electrical – Finally, probably one of the most important steps is the Mustang has been fully rewired with a Painless Performance wiring kit.  I’m sure I’m forgetting some updates, so I’ll add more to the description as I think of them.  I hate to see this one go, but I’m only one man that builds classic hot rods by myself, so I can’t drive them all.  This is as close to a new powerful 429 Fastback that you're going to see.  Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions, would like to Face Time, or would like a walk around video.  I have hundreds of pics, starting from the time I bought the car on the side of the road in Pigeon Forge Tennessee to the final completion where it is now.
