If you ever wanted or needed a monster to drive, here is your
chance. This is a 1984 Chevrolet K10 4X4 Dually. Note that
Chevrolet never built a short-bed dually from the factory, so this
is fully custom. The gooseneck hitch in the rear is for serious
heavy towing, and the 8-10-inch lift with 42 -inch tall tires
means you can go and tow whatever you want, wherever you want. The
Bright Blue paint job looks bold and flashy, while the front grille
still retains its original look. Five KC fog lights atop the Chevy
help you see through whatever madness you encounter, while LED rear
taillights ensure you're visible at night from behind.
The interior is quite interesting. Mostly black, it features
gator-skin-covered bench seats, very nice door panels, and what
appears to be a stock dash and gauge cluster, also in good shape.
An aftermarket GT Grant steering wheel sits in front of a steering
console-mounted Autogage tachometer, while aftermarket Summit oil
pressure and water temperature gauges are mounted under the
dashboard. For audio entertainment, there is a JVC head unit with
AM/FM/Aux radio and a CD player. Below that are the climate
controls, and not far from there are the easy-to-reach 4-speed
floor shifter and four-wheel-drive engagement shifter.
If you can get high enough to see under the hood, you'll find a 350
cubic-inch V8 with an Edelbrock AVS2 1908 4-barrel carburetor. This
V8 is connected to an SM456 4-speed manual transmission that runs a
Dana 60 rear axle and, when needed, engages a Dana 44 front axle.
Both the front and rear rely on leaf springs and shocks for
suspension duties, while 17-inch wheels are wrapped in
42.13.50-17LT TSL Bogger Super Swampers for traction. Stopping this
massive custom truck are front power disc brakes and rear power
drum brakes. And for the deep, throaty sound this truck obviously
deserves, there are long-tube headers connected to dual exhaust and
Flowmaster mufflers.
