While generally speaking, most modern cars aren't able to capture
the spirit of the Golden Age of muscle cars, every once in a while,
we come across a late-model vehicle that stands apart from the
crowd. This 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R is one of those cars.
With the exception of its big carbon fiber rear wing, the Shelby
front chin spoiler, side skirts, and rear valence covered in its
original (and beautiful) Magnetic Grey Metallic. With just 410
actual miles, this car looks and drives almost as good as the day
it rolled off the assembly line.
Inside, we find a well-appointed like-new stock interior. Recaro
Suede Sport bucket seats hold both the driver and passenger
comfortably in place, regardless of the number of G-forces at play.
The rear seat has been deleted for added weight savings, while a
three-spoke Alcantara-padded steering wheel features thumb controls
and that unmistakable Cobra emblem center cap. This car is equipped
with a Technology Package that includes features such as a Blind
Spot Information System with cross-traffic alert. A voice-activated
touchscreen infotainment system operates a twelve-speaker Bang and
Olufsen AM/FM/Bluetooth/Satellite sound system, complete with
navigation and a backup camera. Carbon fiber trim and red accents
are subtle reminders that this car is race-ready whenever you
are.
Under that functional heat-extracting carbon-fiber hood, we find an
original 5.2-liter naturally-aspirated Voodoo V-8 engine. Utilizing
a flat-plane crank that allows this big V-8 to rev to a
spine-tingling 8,250 rpm, this monster motor pumps out an
incredible 526 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and 429 pound-feet of torque
at 4,750 rpm that gets sent out through a variable mode exhaust
system that sounds unlike anything else out there. That massive
power is routed through a Tremec six-speed manual transmission
before heading out to a limited-slip differential, housing a 3.73
gearset that transfers power to the pavement via a set of 19-inch
powder-coated carbon fiber wheels shod in track-ready Michelin
Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires measuring 305/30ZR-19 up front and even
wider 315/30ZR-19 in back.

Ready to race at a moment's notice, this 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby
GT350R gets a beefier suspension over the base GT350, with stiffer
springs and a magnetic dampening system to allow this car to carve
corners harder than any car of the 1960s could have ever dreamed
of. Capable of running from 0-60 mph in under four seconds thanks
to launch control and line lock, this GT350R is one of just about
700 made for 2020, making it equal parts speed and scarce. Few cars
can embody the true feeling of the original muscle car era, but
this GT350R is as good a modern interpretation as it gets. Don't
wait, call today!
