Simca Bertone 1200S
Finished complete restoration to original state and paint color in Jun 2014. Car has been started and driven (couple miles) on occasion. Has been covered and in heated storage since. Only 1 or 2 of these in the US. Originals rare…even in Europe. Modified versions are still used on the Rally circuit for racing.
Replaced all critical components with new/originals where possible (@98% originals). New exhaust header is 4 into 1 with equal length runners to a single collector.
Original engine, good compression, timing, rebuilt carbs, detailed all engine components, new radiator cooling hoses, fuel lines, rebuilt fuel pump, new clamps, vacuum hoses, battery cables, brakes, new radiator fan, fan relay, heater core, electrical, brake lights, new washer pump, new speaker, hose replacement, thermostat 160, gaskets, brake fluid, new hydraulic clutch cylinders (slave & master), new clutch mechanism/disc/throwout bearing, replace plastic clutch line with aluminum line, rebuild or replaced all 4 calipers, new brake bads, air filters (tough to find), oil filter.
Remove trim, bumpers, front suspension, for sandblasting/prep for painting, replace shocks, front suspension. Primers, por15 rust sealer, frame black paint. Sandblast and repaint all parts, remove block undercoat from front and rear, repair dents on trunk, lower rear quarters, front valance, side of car, block sand entire body. Scrape bottom of car and inner fenders, undercoat, clean and paint engine compartment firewall, repair bad drivers side sub frame with 1/8” 4 ft steel, detail engine parts, fix rust holes, clean drive axels, clean and paint tie rods and front suspension install, clean and paint all under body parts, install flywheel and clutch, install motor, clean lines, wires, install linkage to rear, clean and install all brake lines, undercoat whole underbody, fuel lines, heater hoses, clean and detail engine, body work on doors. Paint body to original color - Install trim, windshield, floor insulation, wheel wells, carpet, flasher for turn signals, drilled out and replaced broke screws in floor trim, hoses, detail engine compartment, paint block, replace vbelt, front trunk, seat belts, alignment at bushes, new seals
Misc – new brake & clutch petal rubber pads, metal simca emblems, rear bumper metal license plate housing, gemmer-steering, new tie-rod ends, dust boots, ball joints (upper and downer), new timing chain, lots of spare parts (new) - rebuild kits, bushings, seals, rings, shock absorbers, gasket kits, ball joints
