Vehicle Description
Cruisin Classics is proud to present to you this stunning 1967
Corvette coupe! In 2006, this Corvette was treated to a 427ci V-8
built by Performance Research Inc. (a well-respected engine builder
in Columbus, Ohio), and in 2009, the body was removed from the
frame and repainted, then the interior was restored. Needless to
say, this is one impressive Corvette! Let's dig deeper into all the
details...
This Corvette comes to us dressed in slick Marina Blue (976) paint,
its original color. The paint is eye-catching and exceptionally
nice, but a couple of small demerits keep it in the high-driver
quality category. Perfectly accenting the beautiful blue body is a
stinger hood with a white stripe and "427" badging. The front end
features iconic pop-up headlights, a chrome eggcrate grille, and a
gleaming split bumper. Both front fenders have louvers that vent
heat and also add to the sporty look of the car. From the side
view, you can see that this Corvette is outfitted with side pipes
that both look awesome and sound incredible. Just above the pipes
are black and chrome rocker covers. Chrome touches continue with
bright windshield trim, wiper arms, window trim, side mirrors, and
door handles, all adding some sparkle. The car sits atop correct
aluminum 36-spoke wheels with bowtie center caps all wrapped in
red-line BF Goodrich Silvertown radials - a perfect choice! Around
back, you'll find a centered "cross-flags" gas fill cover, round
taillights with bright trim rings, centered reverse lights,
"Corvette Sting Ray" badging, and another set of shiny bumperettes.
Underneath the rear end is a spare kit with a full spare - just in
case.
Lift the forward tilting hood to reveal a very clean and
stock-looking engine bay. At the heart of it all is a 427ci iron
block sourced by Performance Research Inc. just for this project.
The car comes with a very detailed "spec-book" for the engine build
as well as receipts. The big block is topped off with iron GM
open-chamber oval port heads - all of which were hot-tanked and
magnafluxed at the beginning of the process. Inside the block,
you'll find SRP forged pistons, a GM steel crankshaft, a Bullet
hydraulic roller cam, Comp Cams Pro Magnum roller rocker arms, and
Eagle Specialty H-beam connecting rods. Atop the engine are orange
big block valve covers, a GM aluminum tri-power intake, three
2-barrel carburetors, and a triangular chrome air cleaner with a
"Turbojet 427 3x2 400hp decal". That's not all, though; other
highlights under the hood include power steering, power 4-wheel
disc brakes, a chrome ignition cover, and working factory air
conditioning. The big 427 is mated up to a 2-speed Powerglide
transmission that sends power to the rear wheels via a 3.23:1 rear
axle. The end result is a freeway-friendly Corvette that can still
smoke the tires if you're in the mood.
Open the driver's door to find that the interior is every bit as
impressive as the body and the engine bay. This car was originally,
and still is, equipped with a two-tone blue and white vinyl
interior (450) - a gorgeous combination that works perfectly with
the Marina Blue exterior. The interior looks just as good today as
it did in 1967, thanks to a restoration around 2009 and good
stewardship by its caretaker of the last 20+ years. The white door
panels have been replaced and are in excellent condition. The seats
have been re-foamed and covered in correct dual-texture white
vinyl. Contrasting the white seats are a set of blue seatbelts.
Between the seats is a white emergency brake housing with chrome
seat belt holders. Ahead of that is a blue and chrome shift console
with an ashtray. The floors are covered in stain-free high quality
blue hook & loop carpet topped with matching floormats adorned with
cross-flags logos. White trim on the pillars and rear window leads
up to a nice white vinyl headliner with matching visors. Ahead of
the driver is an aftermarket 3-spoke chrome and polished wood
steering wheel on a fixed column. The steering wheel was changed
out to make the car a little easier for the previous owner to drive
it, but the larger original steering wheel is included with the
car. The steering wheel frames the driver's side of the double hump
blue dash. Inside the driver's "hump" is a black bezel that houses
a 160mph speedometer and a 7K tachometer as well as working gauges
for fuel, battery, oil, and temp. It's also where you'll find knobs
for the lights, the working two-speed wipers, and a working
lighter. The center of the dash is home to a speaker, vents, a
working clock, working heat and A/C controls, as well as the fan
and directional controls, and a vertically situated Delco AM/FM
stereo. Ahead of the passenger is a new-looking glovebox door that
opens to display a reproduction owner's manual and a bag. This
Corvette comes with receipts for the engine build, paint, and
interior restoration, as well as a car cover in a storage bag. It
also comes with several storage tubs that contain paint (liquid,
spray, and touch-up), stereo instructions, a shop manual, NCRS
Authentication & Operations manuals, a complete restoration
guidebook, a Chiltons manual, 2 used headlight bezels - buckets -
doors, 2 new 427 side flag emblems, 2 used door hinges, part of a
blower motor and housing, and a used horn.
Only 8,504 Corvette Coupes were made in 1967, making it a rather
rare ride today. This particular Corvette sure does check the boxes
- 400hp 427ci V-8, 2-speed Powerglide transmission, power steering,
power brakes, cold factory A/C, slick Marina Blue paint,
side-pipes, a breathtaking two-tone interior, gleaming brightwork,
and correct aluminum wheels with redline tires! Not only is the car
absolutely beautiful, but it's also a blast to drive! As the years
go by, these 67's will only become all the more rare, and if you
don't pull the trigger on a fine example like this one now, you'll
surely regret it down the road. Don't wait, call our staff today
and be the lucky one to call this genuine piece of American
automotive history your own!
