1966 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE SS 396 138 VIN, 4 SPEED TRANS, 12 BOLT POSI
REAR This 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS is great looking! It presents
itself very well. Looking down both sides, the body is straight. It
wears its factory color-Tuxedo Black, code A. The paint shows
extremely well and is very glossy and smooth. The door jambs are
very clean and glossy. The chrome and trim are bright and shiny
including the door handles, emblems, taillights, front and rear
bumpers. The windshield and windows are crystal clear, the weather
stripping and window seals have all been replaced. It sits on a set
of 14x6 Chevy Rally wheels with newer trim rings and factory flat
caps with a set of BFG T/A raised white letter radial tires, they
really enhance the cars appearance! The interior looks unabused.
The seat upholstery, door panels, armrests, carpet and headliner
all look really good. All the interior lights work. In front of the
bench seat it has a Muncie 4 speed shifter coming up out of the
floor. Looking forward at the dash the speedometer and gas lens are
crystal clear. The heater controls slide with ease. The factory
steering wheel is nice. It is radio delete. Nothing appears cut-up
or altered. The engine compartment is clean and orderly with a
completely rebuilt 454 ci engine. It has a few performance
upgrades: aluminum intake manifold with Holley 4-barrel dual feed
carburetor with correct fuel line, HEI ignition for reliability,
factory style valve covers and air cleaner and a 4-core Harrison
radiator with factory shroud. Everything is nice and tidy. The
undercarriage is all clean and solid metal (floors, frame, etc.).
The bottom of the motor is clean. The M20 Muncie 4-speed
transmission is clean. The front end components look to have been
mostly replaced. It has a newer Flowmaster dual exhaust system that
runs out the back of the car. It has a 12-bolt 3:73 posi rear end.
The E-brake assembly is all hooked up and working. The trunk is
nicely detailed with a spare tire, trunk mat and new weather
stripping. The bottom of the trunk lid and the jambs are glossy.
