Vehicle Description
2014 Ford Mustang GT Coupe
The fifth generation Mustang ran from 2005 to 2014. At Classic Auto
Mall, the vehicles we represent are often special or limited
edition models. For the fifth gen cars, we've seen our share of
Roush Mustangs, Shelby GT500's, Boss 302's, California Specials,
and a slew of Bullitts. In fact, those produced in greater numbers
by Ford and intended for daily use including the base models and
GT's, are far less common on our showroom floor.
For consignment, a 2014 Ford Mustang GT coupe with a title verified
24,059 actual miles. Our consignor says it was never driven in rain
or snow and it shows. It's got an aftermarket exhaust, a bright
clean coat of red, and a fun stick in the console!
Exterior
Stunning Race Red is the color onboard here and it really is an eye
catcher, especially when combined with a slightly aggressive front
end with projector headlights and inboard fog lamps within the
black grille. It's black that also provides a handsome contrast in
back with the latch panel in line with the smoked tail lights over
black framing around the license plate. Let's go back up front
where heat extractor vents on the hood offer even more sportiness,
while 18-inch wheels are fitting shoes for this stang and are
wrapped in 235/35ZR18's with an early 2019 date code. The now
legendary five point oh emblem is on the side and a tasteful wing
resides on the decklid. Imperfections are noted as some scrapes on
the black chin trim piece and a single rock chip on the bumper
cover.
Interior
Cleanly molded black plastic door panels with monochromatic
speakers present in just about new condition and we're likely to
see similar conditions throughout. Black cloth bucket seats keep
the dark palette going and show just slight compression on the
driver's seat. Two plus two seating in the back is colored in the
same pattern and materials and provides some cozy seating as well
as pull down seat backs for trunk expansion. A fat leather wrapped
steering wheel holds the radio and cruise control buttons and
fronts a pair of gauges backlit in blue, somewhat retro in their
font choice and a speedometer that reaches 160 mph. Between the
circles two more sources of operational information and an idiot
light panel. In the center stack, a flat presentation with a
charcoal faceplate offers up an AM/FM/CD radio, climate controls,
and a digital screen. A stout shifter is in the center console and
low pile black carpet presents cleanly as does the soft charcoal
molded headliner above. The trunk is finished with gray cloth
panels and is spotless.
Drivetrain
This pampered pony shows a spotless engine bay, home to the 5.0
liter Coyote V8 putting out an astounding 420 horsepower, fuel
injected, and mated with an MT82 6-speed manual transmission
sending power to the Ford 8.8" rear with 3.31 gears and TracLoc.
Four wheel power disc brakes add the whoa factor to this powerful
horse.
Undercarriage
Clean underneath with some typical surface rust, here's where we
find the dual exhaust that includes an MBRP system and mufflers
that give way to chrome tips that fit under the rear valance. Dry
conditions prevail at the pans and the knuckles are clear of gunk.
Suspension includes Machpherson struts up front and a 3 link with
coil springs and a panhard bar on the back.
Drive-Ability
Oh yeah, that sound of the MBRP system is quite good and makes this
car sound like all the special edition Mustangs that came before
it. We row her into gear and set this red flyer onto the test loop
where the horsepower shows its wares and that means impressive
acceleration that continues to pull, solid handling, and straight
tracking. As a well maintained, low mileage car, all functions on
board operate just as intended. While Classic Auto Mall represents
that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we
cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of
your purchase.
More than 33,000 Mustang GT's were produced in 2014 and while they
make great daily drivers, some people reserved them for weekends,
car shows, and fair weathered special occasions. That seems to be
the case here because this car is in fantastic condition and
provides a lot of performance, bang for the buck, without overt
racing stripes, big scoops, and giant wings. If it wasn't red, it
would be a sleeper. But with that color and healthy growl, be
prepared for some stoplight showdowns.
