• This Thunderbird was refurbished in 2024, including a full exterior repaint in the factory Ivy Green, new convertible top, new tires, new carpet, and more. 
• A partial list of notable currently installed equipment includes 15-inch wheels with covers, power steering and brakes, a power soft top, a rear-seat tonneau cover, sequential turn signals, and more as detailed below.
• Ford's fourth-generation Thunderbird traded the jet-age curves of its predecessor for a more squared-off, formal look—ushering in a new era of personal luxury. Still big block-powered and riding on a smooth chassis tuned for America’s emerging interstate system, it featured novel touches like a swing-away steering wheel, distinctive sequential rear turn signals, and a special tonneau cover that instantly transformed the practical 4-seat convertible to an eye-catching 2-seater. With its long hood and low stance, the 1964–1966 T-Bird stands as an icon of mid-century modern automotive design.
• Power comes from a 390-cubic-inch V8, rated at about 315 net horsepower and 427 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 3-speed automatic transmission.

• Exterior repainted in factory Ivy Green
• Some rust and body imperfections repaired and rear quarters and rockers treated with a rust prevention coating
• Soft top replaced, including trim, rear window, windshield header bow, and tensioning cables
• Hood trim and insulation pad, antenna, rear body-to-bumper splash shield, and wheel well opening gaskets replaced
• Parking light lenses and gaskets, one taillight lens, and center reverse light lens replaced
• Grille badge and Thunderbird script replaced
• Door weatherstripping, door jamb switches, window channel gaskets, door mirror and remote, door latch screws, and trunk seal replaced
• Floor pan cover plate installed
• Driver's seat padding replaced, interior carpet replaced
• Fan belt and spark plug wires replaced

Ownership History

We purchased this Thunderbird in March 2022 and have added approximately 300 miles since. The previous owner had the car for at least 25 years. Unsure of the ownership history before that.

Known Flaws

• Marks on front seatbacks
• Bypassed heater core ($150 to replace heater core - we just don’t need it for when we drive the car)
