Vehicle Description
For the discerning enthusiast, this 1965 Chevrolet Corvair Monza
Convertible hits all the right notes. Finished in factory Danube
Blue with just 70,477 actual miles, it's a clean survivor from the
best year of the Corvair lineup. '65 was the game-changer-Chevy
finally gave the Corvair a fully independent suspension,
transforming its handling into something genuinely respectable.
Under the rear deck sits the 164ci aluminum flat-six, rated at 110
horsepower, paired with the Powerglide 2-speed automatic that
shifts from the dash-classic GM quirk, and it works like a charm.
It runs strong, drives tight, and sounds just right. The exterior
pops with a chromed luggage rack on the rear hood and fresh rubber
wrapped around wire hubcaps that nail the period-correct look.
Inside, the light-blue vinyl buckets are in great shape, the
carpet's clean with logo'd "Corvair" mats, and the dash brings it
all together with a blue/gray contrast that feels straight out of
the showroom. The original AM radio and heat/defrost controls are
still in place and functioning. The manual top is easy to operate
and comes with a boot for clean lines when it's down. If you're
into vintage GM engineering, rear-engine oddballs, or just want a
drop-top cruiser that stands out from the usual muscle car crowd,
this Monza's got the soul and style to deliver.
