1932 Ford Roadster – All-Steel Brookville Body | 472ci 409 | 4-Speed | Award Winner
Now available from Platt Motors is this beautifully executed 1932 Ford Roadster, an old-school hot rod built in 1997 with an all-steel Brookville reproduction body mounted on an original 1932 Ford frame. The car is titled as a 1932 Ford.
Built with a traditional approach and quality components throughout, this Deuce combines classic hot-rod styling with a potent Chevrolet 409-based V8, a Richmond 4-speed manual transmission, four-wheel disc brakes, and a Ford 9-inch rear end.
Powertrain
Under the hood is a 472ci Chevrolet 409 V8 producing approximately 450 horsepower, with dyno sheets included. Power is sent through a Richmond 4-speed manual transmission to a Ford 9-inch rear end with Positraction.
Four-wheel disc brakes provide substantially improved stopping capability while retaining the traditional appearance of the build.
Body & Exterior
The all-steel Brookville Roadster body is complemented by a steel louvered hood and deck lid. Traditional steel wheels wear Ford hubcaps and beauty rings, with 15-inch tires up front and 16-inch tires at the rear, giving the car the proper period hot-rod stance.
The Roadster has earned numerous show awards, reflecting the quality of its presentation and craftsmanship.
Interior
The custom leather interior is finished with excellent attention to detail while maintaining an appropriately traditional appearance. Features include a painted wood-grain dash, banjo-style steering wheel, and a 1940 Ford radio converted to AM/FM operation.
A new battery has also been installed along with a master battery cut-off switch.
Highlights
This is a well-sorted traditional-style Deuce that can be enjoyed as a show car or driven as intended. The 472ci 409 provides serious power, the Richmond 4-speed keeps the driving experience engaging, and the all-steel Brookville body and original Ford frame give the car a strong foundation.
