INTRODUCTION: This is one of the exceptional ones! Fit, finish and
function are excellent. It's exciting too: a 69 SS convertible with
a 427, 4-speed and a posi sounds like a blast! It has a list of
other features as well.
EXTERIOR: I'm sure the body and paint didn't look this good when it
was new in 1969, the fit and finish is excellent. Looking down the
car it is laser beam straight. The panels fit square and flush, I
don't see any rust or damage. Repainted its original code 79 rally
green. The metallic is laid out evenly and the clear coat is
polished like glass. It looks like you could reach into it. The
hockey stick stripes are properly applied. It appears all of the
chrome, emblems, moldings, grille, door handles have been replaced.
It has the optional exterior trim package with the quarter panel
louvers and wheel well moldings. It also features spoilers and
correct T3 headlamps. The weatherstrips and seals have also been
replaced. New windshield and new black convertible top. It's
sitting on a modern version of the SS wheels, they are 17 inch
billet wearing BFGoodrich G-Force tires.
INTERIOR: It is neat as a pin! Reproduction upholstery, door
panels, armrests, carpet, floor mats, dash pad, vents, etc. It has
a factory tachometer and a quartz movement clock. It has a new
console with the factory gauges and Hurst shifter sticking out of
it with the chrome ball. It also features a rare fold down rear
seat, a tilt column with a new deluxe wheel and an AM/FM radio.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: This is a very highly detailed engine
compartment and at the heart of it is a genuine 1969 427-425 hp
code MN used in the COPOs. It has a late 68 date and "512" casting.
The big port heads match to the factory aluminum big port intake
and it has a correct dual feed Holley carb with a correct gas line.
Only 100 miles on a complete engine rebuild. Reproduction chrome
valve covers and air cleaner, correct deep groove pulleys. It does
have an improved billet distributor with electronic ignition and a
set of long tube coated headers. It features power steering and
power brakes with a cadmium plated booster. Reproduction hoses and
clamps, the proper shroud and clutch fan. It is complete with the
cowl seal, horns, spring clamp battery cables etc. Everything is
meticulously painted and every component looks proper and
fresh.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted
slick like the car. Inside is clean metal with a professionally
applied spatter finish paint. It is complete with reproduction
stickers, weatherstrip, trunk mat and well liner. It has a complete
jack assembly as well.
UNDERSIDE: The body was off the subframe and under this car was
completely restored. The steering and suspension front and back was
redone, shocks replaced with AC Delco. The brake system was redone,
it has disc in front, new brake lines and e-brake cables. It has a
nice sounding dual exhaust system with crossover pipe, Flowmaster
mufflers and slash cut polished tips. The fuel system was replaced
including the tank and lines. Looking up at the motor it is
spotless and has a high torque starter. Only 100 miles on a 1969
rebuilt Muncie 4-speed M22 Rock Crusher. A rebuilt driveshaft leads
back to a correct 12 bolt rear end with 3.73 posi gears. The
floors, frame rails, rockers look to be very clean metal. Under the
car is painted black.
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we
built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and
hired a team of technicians to work it. This is so we can sell you
the best cars within reason.
CONCLUSION: This is great car in every aspect! I'm very impressed
with its condition throughout. That's a very rare and desirable
motor and trans in this car that really sets it apart. The new
owner is going to feel very proud of this one!
For nearly 30 years, I, Jay Grams, have personally written the
highlights for almost every car in our collection. What I provide
is my professional opinion based on my experience with these
vehicles. However, opinions can vary, and I strongly recommend a
personal inspection to form your own view. Our sales team is always
available to answer any questions you may have. One great option is
to request a personalized walk-around video, where we can showcase
the car and share our team's insights. **Our cars are displayed
within a museum setting. If you are interested in a specific
vehicle, please schedule an appointment with a salesperson to view
it. Without an appointment, there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you decide to purchase a car, your admission will be
refunded, and you'll receive a one-year museum membership.
