INTRODUCTION: White with red leather! Yes, it is beautiful. The
legendary "Split Window" is considered an iconic American
automotive design. It holds steady as one of the most collectible
Corvettes of all time. This one features an amazing color
combination and very desirable power steering and power brakes.
EXTERIOR: 1963 to 1967 coupes are more desirable than the roadsters
because of their good looks and that is abundantly true of the 1963
because of that split back window. This one is absolutely beautiful
in its original code 936 Ermine White. The body looks great! The
doors shut like new, fiberglass headlight doors open and close,
hood fits square and flush. The paint is polished smooth and
glossy. I walked around the car and did not see a flaw, when you
get up close and inspect it you'll find some minor hairline cracks.
It looks like it has the original glass in good shape. The bumpers,
grilles on the hood, the mirror and gas cap door have been
replaced. It has the early roller catch gas door. We just added
brand new knock-off wheels and it really enhances the car! The
radial white wall tires look sharp too.
INTERIOR: Factory code 490L red interior. I'm sitting in the car
and it is exceptionally nice in here! We just installed brand new
glove soft leather upholstery on the seats. The red carpets are
fresh front to back and includes embroidered floor mats. The
correct, 1963 only, gauges look to be in excellent shape and they
work. The dash pads and the correct glove box door are excellent.
Inside is an original owner's manual. It has the correct optional
AM/FM radio and red seatbelts. The original aluminum center console
looks very good and is home to the correct reverse lockout shifter.
The door panels and armrests are excellent, the headliner and
visors are excellent. The red steering wheel looks new. Pretty much
everything I'm looking at is in great shape!
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has a correct 327-300 horsepower engine, the
casting # and engine suffix are correct. It has stock manifolds,
valve covers, Carter carb and dual snorkel air cleaner. It even has
the ignition shielding, upper and lower. Two very desirable options
are power steering and power brakes. It has the correct dated
Harrison radiator and expansion tank, reproduction hoses and
clamps. Overall it looks proper and clean.
UNDERSIDE: This is the first year for independent front and rear
suspension. It has been maintained as needed. It appears to be in
great shape and drives down the road real nice. The dual exhaust
looks new and exits through the valance with the correct polished
tips. Looking up at the motor it is clean and has a correct
canister type oil filter and a correct starter. The VIN number
matching Muncie 4 speed was just rebuilt. It has its correct rear
end with 3.08 posi gears, code CJ, dated 63. The original
fiberglass floors look to be very well preserved, the spare tire
carrier is in place too. The frame is solid and was painted
black.
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we
built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and
hired a team of technicians to work it. This is so we can sell you
the best cars within reason.
CONCLUSION: We have been dealing in split window Vettes since the
early 70s, I've never seen the demand slow down! This one is a nice
example and the colors really put it over the top.
For nearly 30 years, I, Jay Grams, have personally written the
highlights for almost every car in our collection. What I provide
is my professional opinion based on my experience with these
vehicles. However, opinions can vary, and I strongly recommend a
personal inspection to form your own view. Our sales team is always
available to answer any questions you may have. One great option is
to request a personalized walk-around video, where we can showcase
the car and share our team's insights. **Our cars are displayed
within a museum setting. If you are interested in a specific
vehicle, please schedule an appointment with a salesperson to view
it. Without an appointment, there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you decide to purchase a car, your admission will be
refunded, and you'll receive a one-year museum membership.
