There is a reason that the Mustang has been one of, if not the most
popular muscle car ever made. In April of 1964, the Blue Oval's
pony car caught lightning in a bottle and shot out of the gate like
Secretariat on steroids. One look at this 1966 Ford Mustang coupe,
fully repainted in head-turning Signal Flare Red, and it's easy to
see why this car has been beloved by millions. This car comes with
some GT inspiration, with its rocker panel pinstripe, pass-through
dual exhaust rear valance, and GT-style gas cap, to give it a
little more attitude than when it rolled off the assembly line.
Inside, we find a clean black vinyl interior featuring dual bucket
seats separated by an aftermarket drop-in center console that
offers additional storage along with a set of cup holders for added
convenience. A three-spoke, wood-rimmed steering wheel sits just
ahead of a five-pod gauge cluster, with a big center-mounted 140
mph speedometer, flanked by a pair of auxiliary gauges on either
side. An aftermarket column-mounted 8,000 rpm tachometer makes
ripping off the perfect 1-2 shift a skill that can be practiced
until it becomes seamless. A retro-style AM/FM/AUX stereo comes
complete with Bluetooth connectivity, allowing for a modern
approach to music without interrupting the classic look of this
Mustang's interior.
Under the hood, we find a clean engine bay featuring a 289
cubic-inch V-8 engine. Topped with a single four-barrel Edelbrock
carburetor that feeds into a matching Edelbrock Performer RPM
intake manifold. Mustang valve covers add just enough
advertisement, while stock-style exhaust manifolds feed into a
dual-exhaust before exiting through a set of sweet-sounding
FlowMaster mufflers. Power is routed through a tried-and-true Borg
Warner T10 four-speed manual transmission before being sent out to
an eight-inch rear end.

complete with coilovers, and a traditional live axle rear setup.
Fifteen-inch GT-style steel wheels are shod in BFGoodrich radials
measuring 205/60R-15 up front and wider 215/R-15 in back. If you
have never sat behind the wheel of a first-generation Mustang
powered by a small block V-8 and four-speed manual transmission,
one ride and you'll understand what all the fuss has been about
with this car for the last six decades. Don't wait, call today!
